Yes because it's a triggered effect and not a replacement effect (see Progenitus).

Sneak Attack would be the best place for the Wurm, but in that case why not play with better creatures like Emrakul, Griselbrand, Progenitus, Blightsteel, etc? I think I'd like it best in a Natural Order build where it's really only fighting with Progenitus.

Its probably just me, but I laughed a little when I read "Lotleth Troll BG" in Xerlic's post. Now to get Ragns to make a Golgari skin for the site.

If it said "If xxx would be put in the graveyard from anywhere, shuffle it into its owners library." "If" creates a replacement effect, which happens without priority being passed. "When" is going to be a triggered ability, using the stack and allowing priority to be passed.

Oh my Abyssal Persecutor's brother. This set is getting insane and were still only 93/274 spoiled. Since it might never attack even if you just look at this as a 4mana enchantment opponent sacs a creature each turn thats pretty good. I guess its "drawback" is that one way or another it gets chump blocked but still guaranteeing a dude dies and probably getting bigger each time is hardly a draw back. Selesyna handles this pretty well with its tokens and exile clause on its charm.

No it makes sense.
A creature gets sacrificed to appease the demon.

As long as your opponent has a creature to sacrifice, the demon gets tapped and you can't attack them with it.
(Also, if they do it your turn, if they do it regardless of you attacking or not, it locks you out of using it as a blocker too.)

It is crazy though, I'd call it strictly better than Braids.
Though, I would say it's worse than Juzam Djinn. Yes it's +1/+1 (and then more), and it flies. But Juzam's drawback is a joke, and it can't be similarly locked down.

With lingering souls in the format, and with GW shaping up to have lots of tokens this set, his impact in standard will likely be minimal.

But oh boy, Black/whatever control will love this guy in its sideboard for the mirror. Provided control is ever a thing, ever again.

Yeah, he's obviously built for the block... but outside of it, he's a little bit on the strong side with no drawback... his "drawback" is just a slightly weaker benefit than having a 6/6 flyer... thus no actual drawback. At its weakest, it's a 4-mana enchantment that forces your opponent to sacrifice a creature each time you attack (which makes him stronger).

He might also be good in a format where you have something that untaps him, since the trigger is at the beginning of combat, and you have the chance to untap him before you declare attackers.

He's worded such that an opponent can sacrifice a creature to tap him and prevent him from being a blocker, barring an effect to untap him. That's a very minor drawback, but you could take advantage of someone who thinks he'll buy them a turn.

New Pithing Needle art is better than the original, which rarely happens outside of judge/premium foils.

This is seriously the most interesting set since Urza's Saga.

RTR fully spoiled. Getting pumped for this since my coworkers and I got back into Magic around DKA and made a save some money rule and played without scars block cards. Will now have full standard access to play around with.
I actually broke the rules and they don't let me forget when I expanded to just no scars rares.

Considering the power level of some of the Phyrexian mana spells, I can't blame them haha.
