Hey guys I have some cards I am trying to sell locally and I wanted to get your opinions on pricing. Here is the list of cards with current retail price. Everything I would put at slightly played condition except for the Underground Seas at Played and the Alpha Fastbond at Damaged or heavily played it has some damage going along the top end of the card.

    Sublime Archangel $30
    Bonfire of the Damned $30
    Zombie Master (Beta) $40
    Hellfire $15
    Underground Sea (Unlimited) $250
    Underground Sea (Unlimited) $250
    Underground Sea (Revised) $150
    Genesis $15
    Fastbond (Alpha) $250
    Stifle $20
    Mirari’s Wake $12
    Mirari’s Wake $12
    Flooded Strand $50
    Scroll Rack $25
    Prismatic Omen $15
    Sensei’s Divining Top $16
    Ancient Tomb $12
    Land Tax (legends) $30
    Mishra’s Factory Spring (antiquities) $13
    Mishra’s Factory Autumn (antiquities) $25

Again those prices are not what I want to get for them they are current retail price on the cards. Thanks for your help.

Oh as a follow up to my last post I went and checked out the collection. The lady wanted too much for the whole collection (which was only about half magic cards) but I ended up buying one file box (the ones they use in offices) full of cards and got some decent stuff. I might go back again and try to negotiate an appropriate price for the rest if I can.

If you're going by retail, I would just use Starcity's pricing. If you're looking for a realistic idea of what you can sell your cards for, I would go by Ebay completed listings.

Did you get anything good out of that craigslist lot?

I went and looked at the craigslist lot and it was so big I couldn't check the whole collection, the parts I did look at were just junk rares and commons/uncommons (not even that many junk rares) but the lady still wanted like $1500 for it and even turned down an offer of $1200 from someone else. The other problem was that the original art was from that other game you guys mentioned here and it wasn't even original it was a signed lithograph and half the collection was from other card games not magic. I did see some good sets in there though and the lady offered to sell me one of the boxes for $100 so I took it.

Ended up with the Beta Zombie Master 2 Unlimited Underground Seas 1 Revised Underground Sea 1 Stifle 1 Flooded Strand Alpha Fastbond and a large pile of $5-30 cards. So it worked out in the end. Though now I am really curious about what was in the rest of the collection because I bought one small box and there were 4 more big boxes full of cards.

    You live the dream, Zoobernut.

It's nearly impossible to hit it big with MTG on Craigslist in the NYC area. People either know the value of their cards here or are trying to scam buyers.

The one time someone posted a listing for a lot of cards for $40 with a picture of a pile of stuff including an Underground Sea and a Force of Will. In the hour it took for me to get out there, someone else had showed up and flashed the seller $500 and he accepted it. I got in contact with the buyer and he ended up making several thousand dollars from the purchase. The guy had a lotus and 3 moxen in addition to almost a full play set of dual lands among other noteables.

Wow that is pretty amazing! I haven't hit it big like that yet but I have nearly tripled the overall size of my collection for a net cost of $0 buying collections and reselling parts of them. I just recently sold a bunch of extra cards I got on craigslist for store credit at Channelfireball and got 2 Wastelands to finish my playset and a playset of unlimited sinkholes that made me happy.

We will have to see if the lady sells the rest of that collection. If she comes down a little bit in price on the rest of it I might go back to pick it up. It was really disorganized so there is a chance that those other boxes still had some good stuff in them.

Nice haul. I'm still trying to live the dream but its damn near impossible around here. One of my LGS has a guy that all he does is troll craigslist all day looking for deals and a dealer friend of mine drives as far as 5hours out to go get craigslist collections so this whole area is on lock down D: Used to be able to find deals occasionally at garage sales or goodwill but those have dried up as now garage sellers don't wait and craigslist it and goodwill now usually pools cards for its online auctions instead of selling instore.

Kinda, I knew of him from there as well and I talk to him at the major events in the area when I see him (GP Seattle, SCG Legacy Opens). His decks are quite amazing to see. At GP Seattle I got to see his Aggro Loam deck and got to see his Rock deck at the last 2 Seattle Opens. I ended up trading him a Russian Deathrite for an English one (straight across) since I knew he was running it and was going for Russian.

Feline plays where I play on Sunday, so I know her fairly well. As much as I hate playing against High Tide, she has that deck and the math down perfectly.

Also, I'm Whippoorwill on The Source.

Yeah, she really seemed to know her shit. High Tide is usually boring as hell to watch on stream, but she went through the combo really fast every time she went off. She also seemed to take the bullshit on twitter really well, also. Props to her.

My boros standard deck just found a great new card to finish my curve >.>

The GR Planewalker is going to be great in standard I believe.

Anyone here ever played cheeri0s in legacy? I am trying out how to make the deck more consistent and have more sticking power if it has to work past turn 1 or 2.

I just looked up a list. It seems like a glass cannon type of deck, similar to Charbelcher. I don't think these types of decks are supposed to let the game go past the first few turns. At least, that's the impression I got from the Charbelcher player at my store. OOC, why run this deck over the more consistent combo decks of the format?

Went to a draft last week and pulled this on my first pack:

Bad picture quality sorry. The other rare in the pack was Sphinx's Revelation

Didn't get to play him once. Got dominated by Vraska first game, and then Centaur populate army in the second game. Apparently the person I was playing against was a pro player... (friend told me after my game) so I didn't feel too bad for losing

Mostly because dropping an army of 0 cost creatures is funny, secondly because the concept of the deck is interesting to me, and third because it is far far cheaper to build than other combo decks because of the lack of LED amongst other expensive combo required cards.

Sick pull. What did the guy to your left say when you shipped him a Sphinx's?
