Cool thanks for the tip Weltall. Man I wish I had those JTMS and marsh flatsI need 2 more marsh flats and at least 2 or 3 JTMS to finish the stoneblade legacy deck I am building.

as wizards spoils these modern masters im getting all excited, and then i come here and remember SCG is awful and i dunno if ill buy any :/
Holy crap that makes me really sad. I hate people who steal cards and rip other people off. I am sorry that happened. When I was a kid I had a bunch of my baseball cards stolen in elementary school and it really scarred me with respect to stealing cards. I am super paranoid about it now and I abhor people who would do that to others.
Hey, looking for some advice, the 1st page of Google searches came up a dud... I'm relatively new to MTG and enjoy using a Token deck. My friend who i play regularly with bought 4 Aether snap, with the intention of pissing me off. I have come across some debate as to whether Rebuff the Wicked is a counter to Aether Snap or not?
Green/White is my preference, so any advice to countering this would be appreciated.
Aether Snap doesn't target anything, so no, Rebuff the Wicked can't counter Aether Snap.
Zoobernut, didn't you get boxes at MSRP from your LGS?
One store is doing $250/each but they're shady as fuck so I'm not going to give them any business. Another store is doing $35 drafts. My regular LGS is doing $30 drafts and I'll probably do a few of those. I'm really just hoping to pull a goyf since I've been at 3 for a long long time so I'd like to finish the playset. The only other staples I really "need" from MM are bobs, and it's just cheaper to buy a playset if MM causes the prices to drop.
Full spoilers are up: http://www.wizards.com/Magic/tcg/art...ernmasters/cig
What do you guys think? I'm not buying any product and probably going to cap myself at 3 drafts. To me, that seems like -EV, but the set looks like a really fun limited format.
Glad I didn't buy any boxes. The Mythic choices were terrible. No one wants the stupid dragons lol.
For value If you got a box under $200 I think it was worth getting. I feel bad for the loads of people that will be throwing $300 a box who will crack shit like Red kamigawa dragon. It does however look like a blast to draft but I think it focuses to much on the limited game aspect of the set. While it looks like one the best draft environments in a long time with such a limited print run most people won't get to draft it and those that do will likely only do it once. Tuning the set for limited led to alot of card exclusions of staple modern cards in dire need of reprint which is a shame since that was the entire point of printing this set. Second most played card in Modern is Remand and even that didn't get a reprint. I don't doubt there will be a Modern Masters 2 as theres no way this set won't make a shit ton of money it could be years down the line and many of these cards can't be reprinted in standard.
Notable cards excluded
Spoiler: show
The lack of lands is straight depressing. The people who paid $220-350 for boxes got absolutely ROBBED.
You could buy 4x of multiple cards you actually want to open for that price, especially if we see a price drop on things like Cryptic Command and Bob.
Draft will be ridiculously fun though.
My LGS fell through when he got an email from his distributors that literally said they would not be selling him all the product he had already ordered because they were diverting it to Starcitygames. He put in his order a long time ago and they took it away from him. Because SCG is a bigger company and can afford to buy over local game store owners. Sucks but that is life when you do dirty business.
^That sucks.Sorry to hear that.
Not gonna lie, I'm not upset with the no Remand reprint but that's because I have a playset.
People at my store were tossing around the idea of Mutavault in M14 since it kind of goes with the Sliver theme, but that's kind of grasping at straws.
I'm really surprised with the no Thoughtseize reprint since it's one of the most expensive Modern cards and very widely played in the format.
Anyone going to GP Vegas? I'm east coast, so the flight cost is way too high for me, but it looks like it's going to be a record breaking GP.
I really hope for a thoughtseize and mutavault reprint soon, along with crucible of worlds. Those three cards were very bad omissions imo from this set. We might see some of them show up in upcoming sets though which would make me happy if they were in normal sets and not this limited print run bullshit.
Just posting this in case some of you don't visit the MMO forum and would be interested:

So to add insult to injury on the MMS front. (I swear WoTC lost their damn minds) My lgs owner just found out that he is not allowed to run a Grand Prix Trial that is MMS sealed on Sunday June 9th. This is after he specifically moved the GPT so he could do that. Wizards told him that it wasn't their intention for the GPT's to be sealed MMS even though that is the format of the GP. What the hell is that all about?
The latest is that so many stores were complaining about that they changed their minds but I am not 100% sure of that.
This set has been a clusterfuck from start to finish from basicly every angle. Apparently emails have gone out today to stores saying there is going to be a 2nd wave of MM product but still won't be enough. Important to note however that 2nd wave doesn't necessarily mean 2nd print run.
So much potential in this set, so many ways that it was messed up. The card list is crappier than it should have been, the print run is smaller than it should have been or should have been distributed differently, the set was designed for limited instead of modern, the release date was too close to the GP and stores aren't necessarily getting enough product to hold sealed GPT's with MMS anyway etc... The list goes on and on with regards to things that WoTC could have done better.
The whole idea of MM was stupid from the getgo. I understand that Wizards wanted for Modern to grow, but the format was doing fine imo without having to re-release product. The product is limited to avoid Chronicles part 2, so you end up with the secondary market being even more cutthroat than usual. When boxes are going for $250+, how is that making the cards more accessible? For that cost, I can buy a playset of Bobs plus a playset of non-blue fetches and have a better start to a modern deck than if you crack a box.
My lgs got their shipment in, and is selling every box for $150, all of course where pre-ordered. But I think that I might jump on that second shipment tomorrow as it's going to be 170 this time around, which is fine with me.
