You know, I'm actually thankful for this thread.
You guys are really teaching me a lot about these new terms and such.

Um... next terms to learn, Dreadstill and Rock?

I dunno Dreadstill, but by context, it's the name of a popular deck.

Rock is a deck known as "The Rock", who's key feature is a card by the name of Spiritmonger.

Dreadstill is the name of a legacy deck that runs Phyrexian Dreadnaughts and Stifles. The "still" part comes from the card Standstill, which is really good. You run force of wills, counterbalance, sinsei's divining top and such to control the board. 2 mana for a 12/12 trampler is kinda borked.

Legacy Zoo would like to have a word with Dreadstill. Then again, Prison/Stax would like to have a word with Zoo. :/

Kind of the beauty of a healthy meta when every deck has a deck that trounces it.

so if I have a version of Spring Tide sitting around (standard stuff: force of wills, fetchlands, cunning wishes, etc.) is there anything I can convert it too cheaply?

this thing is just sitting on my desk, useless as it is. I mean it's fun, and it can win, but not consistently. although I love it nonetheless.

Next level blue could work, a budget version at least.

The exact reason why I think there should be more main deck leyline of the voids.

Leyline of the void is only your opponent. Goyf looks at all graveyards.

    Elves doesn't!

Would be my deck of choice for legacy, there is something strangely alluring about playing a deck with 20 or less land with the rest of the deck being creatures

It's like catering to my inner 10 year old magic newbie.

As for maindeck voids, if more people do that, then dredge will pretty much cease existing as an archetype...

My friend told me he was taking me to a sanctioned draft last night. My cardpool was sick lol. Not only did I pay for mine and my friends draft with 2 fetchlands, he also pulled a day of judgment. We pool cards so yeah. He also payed for my draft since I'm poor and shit. My draft deck ended up being ridonkuless.

I'll check into it, but I ain't runnin' no goyf. Even if I got four free goyfs, I would not fucking run them on principle alone. I might lose because of it, but I'd lose with dignity, damnit.

and I'm totally lying. I'd run the goyfs if I had them. but I wanted to make a point, which is: fuck goyf. hate that card so much.

I honestly stopped going to the sanctioned drafts at my last card shop because I felt like they were making me a bad drafter. I'm talking 4th/5th pick inferno trap bad.

Either I'm surrounded by dumb drafters in my area or I'm really good since I'm almost always in the money regardless of blocks. Hell, I remember doing a small Mirrodin block drafter and I got a Leveler, Darksteel Reactor, and Bringer of the Red Dawn. So I just starting stocking up on equipments and small weenies and still scraped 5th place >.>

Then again, I also remember getting not one, but TWO, Supermans for an Urza block draft. 1st was on my pull and the 2nd got passed by the guy next to me who must've wanted the Rancor over removing a bulletproof beatstick.

Sucks that WotC killed it though with the way combat damage is now handled. Managed to get all 4 of mine signed and 2 of them altered when I met rk Post awhile back. Still cool to have though.
