This is going to be a cool format. A lot like shards, but hopefully no broken mechanic in the 3rd set. Modern is going to be slightly more interesting I guess? Fewer decks that are cold to blood moon. As for m15, it's just the usual draft good cards and not a wonky curve. Triplicate spirits is a pretty good card, especially if you can get the sunblade elf. Covenant of blood is not too bad either.

M15 draft, I've been doing really good with Black/Red Removal, a few Forge Devil, Lightning Strikes, Flesh to Dust, and Inferno Fist should get you there with some decent monsters. If you are on that plan look out for three cards that might get passed if people aren't in your those colors Feast on the Fallen, Cone of Flame and Nightfire Giant, they are all blowout cards. I can't stress this enough Cone of Flame and Nightfire Giant are legit pack one pick one, you know pending the rare is meh.

The other plans that I see work a lot are:
Red/Blue artifacts: Because Ornathopter/Darksteel Citadel + Ensoul Artifact isn't just magical xmas land. Back it up with some removal and the guys that get bonuses for haven't artifacts and you have a good deck.
Green/White or Black/White Tokens: Like many people have said Triplicate Spirits is good card, and when you can convoke into a Siege Worm or Chord of Calling for the big fatty it feels so nice. Also look for Spirit Bonds and Obelisk of Urd.
Blue/Black or Blue/White Flyer's: Evasion, check, Removal, check, Life Gain, check. Blue cards too look out for Frost Linx, Kapsho Kitefins, and Jorubai Murk Lurker. Jorubai also goes great in any black deck if you are willing to splash the blue to get him out.
Green/Red Monsters: Use mana ramp from Elvish Mystic and Generator Servant to play big creatures like Hornet Queen and Siege Worm. Two pro plays for this deck, Hunt the Weak on a Hornet nest, and Roaring Primadox + any creature with a come into play effect. Also Kird Chieftain dose some serious work in this deck.

The other color combinations I've found to be rather lackluster. and Also sometimes Mono White can get there if you have Mass Calcify or Ajani but it's rather risky imo.
Good Luck at FMN, I hope that this helps a little, and I'd like to hear how you do.

    Thanks for the tips Kononeko.

And Khans is looking hype as fuck. Really hope they don't drop the ball on this one.

Since you asked, things went pretty poorly. I trainwrecked my deck by taking a Chord of Calling P1P1 and doing a bad job of reading the signals when I could have had a pretty decent red deck. The stupid thing is I already have 4 RTR Chords, so it's not like I needed it for Modern. Oh well. I'm probably not going to mess with M15 this week and just wait for KTK.

    KTK still looking amazing.
I've got some ideas for making a soldiers tribal or warriors tribal work, but IDK how tournament competitive it will be.
Most interested in getting a Sultai enchantment graveyard deck in the works. Ideal start looking like Elvish Mystic -> Sultai Ascendancy to start your modified scry 2 on upkeep that also puts work into the yard
The mana looks really fun for the KTK wedges. I like Sultai's because their painlands center on G for T1 mystic. The fetches work with the other colors so a T2 polluted delta can find the missing painland color.

    I love trolling in Modern.

Go to Modern night, play against Splinter Twin. Person goes to Splinter Twin a Pestermite. I cast Vines Of the Vastwood on it. He spends 10 minutes being confused and demands 2 judges lol

That seems like a pretty straightforward rules situation. Why do you need 2 judges? lol PJSalt

because splinter twin doesn't use the word Target. Unless we're talking the actual act of enchanting it, which would definitely be straightforward.

    1. I can see some confusion in that Splinter Twin does not say target, but Auras do have a target while on the stack which, ya, really should have taken just 1 judge.
    2. Even if it did get attached and no longer targeting, playing the Vines after that is still good. The new Pestermite's abilities wouldn't be able to target the original Pestermite to combo off

Rabblemasters! Those bastards are STILL going up, though.

I'd say drop Reflecting Palm to the sideboard, maybe throw in some removal. idk, just a suggestion.

I just had the idea to give my brother a constructed deck for his birthday coming up soon. Anybody good good suggestions for fun to play Standard decks that don't cost $300 to build?

The guy I did that too is one of those magic players who can't stand to people who they consider shitty players so anytime someone wins they think they're cheating or some shit and refuse to believe it.

That's why he called two judges.

oh THOSE guys. fuck those guys. i'd have just been happy to see a clever play, man. i love that shit, even when it's used against me. it's just fun to see, and gives me ideas of my own, yknow? Like building legos, and seeing shit someone else has built. All sorts of tricky little ways to make the parts do something cool.

Oh I know. He thinks I'm all super happy because I beat him. I'm super happy because I love those kinds of plays. I've even said like a dozen times at FNM tonight. "I didn't care if I won. That play was just awesome"

    I know what you mean.

Random entertaining play in a 5 person game last week:

Someone has a Tyramet whatever with an Inspire that basically does Extort (when it untaps). It's tapped, my turn, I play an Act of Treason which gives it to me and untaps it, giving me 4 life. Then I have a Blood Host out (yes, this was a random garbage throwaway deck) and sacrifice the Tyramet for a +1 counter and two more life.

Plays like that make me happy. I could care less about winning 99% of the time. The deck was pure removal/annoyance, and I only made it to kill off this one guy's Daring Thief and burn him down in multiplayer to piss him off (his whole deck revolves around it). Didn't care if I won--only wanted to troll.
