totally random find. i was digging through a drawer looking for my PSOne because it has my copy of FF Origins in it, stumbled upon a random plastic bag with a bunch of cassette tapes, 3.5" floppies, and a random assortment of magic cards.

in the pile was a starter deck from onslaught which didn't have much of note in it, and then an unsorted pile of other cards, which contained a judgment printing of cabal therapy and an unlimited demonic tutor in surprisingly nice condition (given that it's apparently survived 5-6 moves in 15 years, lol). i'm half excited and half super confused because i did not play during judgment or onslaught so i have no idea how these came into my possession, but i'm certainly not complaining!

That's pretty sweet. I remember when I got back into playing around Innistrad, I was visiting my parents and I started digging around my old room to see if any of my old cards survived the purge when I sold most of my stuff during college. I found a Savannah, a Plateau, a playset of Wastelands, a playset of Sinkholes and some unopened Ravnica boosters. It was kind of bittersweet though because I know I sold a lot more stuff than I actually kept. At least I can be thankful that Wastelands were like 50 cents each 10 years ago so I never even considered ebaying them.

I also know I had a binder with cards that were considered trash way back when, but are $$$ now. I know I had several Show and Tells and Sneak Attacks, but I have no idea where this binder is. I'm assuming it's in the black hole that is my parents' basement, so even if I find the binder somewhere down the line, I'm sure the cards are going to be warped as hell since it gets pretty damp down there and they've had floods. If anything, it'd be fodder for the mtggore sub on reddit.

Bought a Khans fatpack today because I had a gift card to walmart and I don't live near a walmart anymore so it was just sitting in my wallet. I got an Ugin's and a Helmsasher. I did get one Bloodstained Mire but damn I got 2 mythics that happened to be the 2 cheapest worthless mythics. I got a couple of other decent rares in the ~$6 range though so it wasn't a terrible fatpack. I was hoping for more than 1 fetch land though.

my roommate running a 14 dollar mono white agro deck just went to 1st tonight in FNM it was ridiculous, on the same note my red deck fell short for a 2-2 losing to a USA and mana starving.

So last night I went 2-2 with an OK Abzan deck it was mostly 2 or 3 drops which was fine. I hated one match though; first game I got mana flooded and he got mana screwed. Second game I got mana screwed and he got mana flooded. The third game he we were finally able to play and it was decent I just couldn't kill his warriors fast enough. Chief of the Edge x2 and Chief of the Scale x1 plus about 4 other warriors and a trumpet blast as your combat trick seems rather good.

So it looks like the next few months are going to be busy for me, I'm hitting up GP Nashville on the 31st, then GP Jersey on the 14th of November. After that is GP Baltimore on Dec. 12th. Anyone else going to any of these?

Also I'm routing for 3 local guys this weekend at the Pro Tour, Zach Jesse, Charles League and Jeff "The Zookeeper" Szablak

I'm thinking about going to GP Jersey if only for the sweet playmat and I'm only about an hour and a half away, but I'm in the process of closing on a house so money is really tight so not sure.

We always root for Reid since he plays at our store.

Was wondering if anyone here would be interested in doing a weekly draft/sealed/t2/2hg tourneys with cockatrice & drafts.in.

Was thinking saturday nights since most people go to fnm at their local store i would guess. My local store starts too early for me to attend their FNM =/

Cockatrice is a f2p mtg client with artwork for every set and card printed. Drafts.in is a site that allows a group to do draft and sealed together and then export the decks created into files that cockatrice can load.

Oh, sweet. Thanks for the heads up. Always wanted to get more games in with my real decks but was highly against giving Wizards/Hasbro more and more money to get digital 1s and 0s of stuff I already paid for.

Probably can't do a weekly thing though... My free time is random as hell with wife/school/work...

I seem to recall a friend of mine playing something called Wagic on his PSP, and he said it was also for PC. Think there was also a program called OCTGN that could handle a few other card games too, but you had to find and download a bunch of files for it. I'm guessing this Cockatrice is similar? I liked being able to play games like Magic and Yugioh every now and then, but lately their official video games have kinda sucked.

Yea cockatrice is similar, can do m9re than just 2 player mp with it. It has a built in updater as well as its own server browser/chat to find mp games if you wanna just play vs a random.

Play randoms cautiously, I hear there's raging and a large gap in rules knowledge since you're maintaining the game state yourself.

So glad I picked up 3 Dig through Times as throw-ins in trades the past week lol. Card is the literal nuts. I was testing a list similar to Cifka's UB control and first time I cast Dig it was like Oh, I find exactly what I want.
