This has been a good day for the game. That kid made a mockery of the recent Pro Tour trying to pull his tricks against pros seasoned many years beyond his own experience.

Cracked another Khans box, massive sad face this time though. Cards worth 2 or more only added up to like $90 in fair market price.

finished out most of my uncommon sets and got a playset of Knuckleblades finished from it though. Herald of Anafenza set too. Only one fetch and was a stupid Mire. Got a Dig at least for my commander deck since I didn't get one in my first box, and a Clever Impersonator. My commander deck is happy, but my perceived value is like zilch.

Three boxes, no walkers. Got every Mythic but Pits and the walkers, and some of those mythics two or three copies of, and got a mythic foil but it was freaking See the Unwritten or whatever that Green ferocious put things on field card is. I have plenty of trade stuff at least and the box values have been right around or slightly below average in terms of $2 or higher cards, but still not exactly pleased.

Going straight singles from now on. I should also probably care less about having multiple decks and just make 3 pretty solid ones.

packs are more fun though. the element of discovery when tearing open a new booster is half the fun.

Just draft. You will most likely get good stuff that way, and it will end up paying for it's self. Plus, you get to have fun. I mean it's not like you are doing what a guy at my LGS did with his friends back in the day, Team draft winners get all the rares to redraft, losers puts up $20 plus replacement packs.

Yeah but at $100+ a box, it's basically a legal form of gambling.

so the group im playing with is starting to go to Standard format and they're all dropping hundreds of dollars on singles and shit. Fuck that. I don't have the cash or inclination to compete with that so I'm just going to keep using my non-standard decks.

DCI finished looking through more evidence of cheating and gave him an b& upgrade. Didn't help that he was talking shit openly about his DCI interactions at the SCG event with judges around.

While I tend to despise leddit as a whole I did enjoy the witch hunt they went on after Worcester. Now if only the DCI could ban BO, fat sweaty/greasy fingers, and people that exceed the load limit of metal chairs...

Jared Boetcher should have been banned on looks alone. This game needs more Kiblers and less Boetchers.

Boetcher was a bit of a mystery to me. He was this uber upcoming rookie yet every time I saw him on cam his play decisions and style were very unimpressive. At least with Mike Long it was a hard guess if he was cheating or he was really that brilliant.

Also +1 for Brian "Brian Kibler" Kibler playmats.

Someone please make sure I'm not mistaken--if you cast a noncreature spell, even if it fails to resolve, Prowess still can proc... Right?
