Yesterday they announced some drafts and sealed events that are going to be fun. I'm doing the Urza's Block sealed event. If I get any extra sleeves from side events ill sell them to you also if you want ill try and pick up a mat if its at a reasonable price.

Elves, I'm not to great with it. But ill have fun so I don't care for the most part.

Nice. I've been jamming a decent amount of games against the Elves player at my LGS this past week. GL at the GP!

If your board gets cluttered from dudes, the ones that you can only activate once each turn, turn them upside down(not face down) when you use it in that turn to denote that you used it so you don't forget or accidentally cheat. Overall, the deck only get complicated with multiple glimpses and the once a turn guys in play. Other than that, it's just knowing what you're playing against. Also, the elf deck that plays 4x blood moon in the board and taigas in the main is pretty sweet. You just win against some decks and it's funny. I don't know if that's good now because UR delver is probably the best deck in the format. Expect to see a lot of forked bolts going around.

Yeah I'm running 2 forked bolts and 2 fire//ice in my main and 2 rough//tumble in my side lol.

U/W Heroic has been doing pretty well lately, and pretty cheap. Tom Ross made 3rd I think at the recent SCG Standard Open in Columbus.

I think my main problem is I keep expecting to win by Aqueous Form or Stratus Walk, but I know I should focus more on Ordeal of Thassa and removing their creatures by turn mine sideways.

I've got a modern IQ saturday and a standard IQ sunday - was hoping less attention would be brought to UW Heroic as the deck is sweet but that's what happens when a name like Ross crushes with it. Also apparently I'm a Tom Ross fanboy as I'm playing Infect saturday. If I scrub out of the IQ super quick, there's a standard GPT at the same store 3 hours after start of the IQ

So one of the guys that I'm going to Jersey with plays U/R Delver so I know the match rather well. Also tomorrow I'm going to play in the Urza's Block Sealed that should be a ton of fun. I'm so ready to get off of work today!

So, I just had one of the most enjoyable games of Modern

using my infect deck I did 25 Physical dmg on turn 4.

Dryad Arbor, Wild Defiance, 2 Mutagenic Growths, 2 Groundswells with Landfall.

Funny thing, he had a blocker but didn't block cause he thought he was only taking 1 dmg. He was so pissed, he told me to fuck off and then left.

"Only taking 1 damage" mindset is only valid in Standard. Think like that in Modern or Legacy and you will get punished every time.

I'm a huge sucker for Ross. He doesn't talk much but his piloting skills for the decks he runs make Han Solo look like shit.

i made a similar play with a birds of paradise after a frustrating match of having all of my infect stuff blown up. that was a deeply gratifying victory

I'll probably sell any extra sleeves I get as well, and I'll be on the lookout for mats. For you guys buying, what do you consider reasonable? There are people that I know who are planning to run standard or modern decks in the event just for the swag. Hell, the guy I'm going down with plans to pick up his voucher at the player's meeting and head straight to the side events.

Just look for the guy hyperventilating into a bag after going 0-4. They will take nearly any price to rid themselves of any reminders of having ever been there.

Failing that I offer 20-30 bucks for a mat and almost always find a quick taker. Bonus points if you do happen to nab a mat with Avon and/or Ceddy+Sulli signings. No idea for sleeves but I expect people will want ~$10 per 80 count.

He should have seen that coming with a Wild Defiance in play or at least know it was possible. I mean it was a long shot but his own fault for not understanding how much power can come out of nowhere with Infect

They should have social skill building workshops that some of the people I've met at shops, or people like this, are forced to go through before they're allowed to be in any DCI event again =/

Even though, yeah, the outcome is still hilarious, that's the kind of thing that turns me off the TCG community in public...
