Has it been confirmed that the MM gp is in Vegas again?
The sideboard in eternal formats is extremely powerful. Much moreso than standard. Stuff like Choke, Chalice of the Void, Containment Priest, Rest in Peace, Grafdiggers Cage etc make it almost impossible for certain decks to win.
That's why I love Legacy. Being able to next level is so much more important than how many Siege Rhinos can I jam.
So last night I was in Walmart when I saw that they had a repack deal were you got 2 sealed decks, 2 booster packs and a hard plastic case for $20. While looking through them I found two packages with the 2011 Commander decks Political Puppets and Mirror Mastery. Both of these decks retail for about 70 to 90 dollars and have some cards that are worth a good amount. So, if you are looking for a good buy in to trade value I'd hit up Walmart.
Yeah I went too one on the other side of Richmond and they didn't have any. I wonder if it is just a regional thing. Ill post some pics when I open them up later today. The company that did the stocking was MJ Holdings.
Its kind of random, these things have shown up and disappeared numerous times the last 2 years. The only thing you can really do is check everytime your at a walmart/target.
Yeah, read up on the company a bit and seems to happen with sports cards a bunch too.
yeah that sometimes happens with Lego too, at most big retailers. Sometimes a crate will be forgotten in back or something, and they'll bust 'em out. Completely local, though.
Tried one slightly out in the country and no dice.![]()
Yeah, just tried a third Walmart and it's probably just something I'll be lucky enough to come across sitting on the shelf. Gonna stop making 5min trips to look.
Sometimes the booster triple packs at Wal Mart you can get lucky and get a Phyrexia or Zendikar pack mixed in with an RTR pack and a 2012 or 2013 Core Set pack. Super rare but worth a trip to Wal Mart from time to time to see if you don't luck out.
I just picked up two triple boosters for the hell of it but didn't see any older packs. Opened one so far, Theros/Theros/Gatecrash, got a Prophet of Kruphix and Magma Jet in one and Temple of Abandon in the other. Gatecrash was Watery Grave, and had a Bane Alley Broker also. I picked up a KTK single for the hell of it and was greeted by a Sarkhan so I guess I'm doing pretty alright (especially happy because I didn't get a single walker out of my 3 booster boxes of KTK...)
Edit: of course the other one is complete ass. Agent of the Fates, (under)Whelming Wave, and Kruphix Dictate. As usual it balances out. I picked up two others last week and got them to give me the price they were on the rack of (4.96) and got a Thoughtseize out of one of the Theros packs. I'm not allowed complain at all right now.
Nice. I had a pretty awesome box for KTK: foil Flooded Strand, foil Wooded Foothills, 2x Flooded Strand, 2x Wooded Foothills, and a Windswept Heath on top of a Sorin and a few other nice bits.
I've been having a really bad streak with boosters from Walmart and Target though, sitting on a ton of crap rares.
I had decent luck with my first box (Wingmate Roc, 7 fetches I think?, some other stuff), second box was 4 fetches, third box was 7 fetches again.
I bought a ton of boosters during the Walgreens BOGO and got screwed pretty badly (20+ and not a single fetch), but out of the last 20 boosters I've bought at Walmart/Target I've gotten a regular and foil Elsepth in the same pack, a foil Polluted Delta and regular Wooded Foothills in the same pack, that Thoughtseize I mentioned, and now the Sarkhan. Among other random 4-10 dollar cards.
The Sarkhan was the regular single pack cardboard separated packaging with a single line of numbers on the pack inside, not double like it does from boxes.
I'm still salty over that holiday gift box.
Unless you're getting killer deals on packs they almost always make you salty in the long run. Main reason I get them occasionally is so I can get high off that glorious new card smell.
