Nope. Origins will be the final 'core set' - and after this they'll be going to a two-set-per-block structure.

neat. been wanting to buy khans block purely for the collection factor, as I haven't been playing magic much. i think this'll be a good point at which to break the chain.

I can't wait for those two-set blocks to be full of renamed prints of cards that would've been in the coreset. This just cements my decision to never play standard again.

This would mean we'd have to solve the problem of what to do with new players, but there had already been talk of creating a product line solely for them, anyway.

I'd say wait until we get a spoiler list of the first block before throwing the idea out completely

What list are you working on for Urzatron? I finished building it recently but haven't had any time to playtest it or make adjustments yet. (I didn't spend any money on the Karns I already had those from when they were cheap luckily)

I don't have a list lying around atm, just the normal Red/Green version with Ugin and All is Dust thrown in. Before I quit the last time I had most of the cards together, I'm just missing 2 Karns and the Ugins.

I have most of that deck together - need a couple Sylvan Scrying, and Grove of the Burnwillows at the current prices is ridiculous so I'm gonna just use Stomping Grounds.

For Modern I also really liked the B/W token list I saw from the Pro Tour over the weekend. I'd need to round up 4 Bitter Blossoms which is a bit of a dent, but so much of that deck is centered around Innistrad block (which I own basically a playset of everything from) that it would be easily to cobble together otherwise.

I am running mono-blue urzatron. It is really fun to play. I wanted to put together the red/green list but didn't have the sylvan scrying's or the burnwillows. I want to pick up 1 or 2 Ugin's to add to the deck though and see how it plays with them in it.

I haven't played myself since 2010 around the Alara block, I swung by a card shop the other day just looking around and asked if there was any new sets out. Guy gave me some Fate reforged boosters and I started buying again, haven't touch Khans of Tarkir yet though...

Is it really too much to ask for Mon's Goblin Raiders to be playable in Standard?

I wouldn't hold my breath. We won't get that setting. Not unless there's a good reason for Wizard's golden boy Jace to go there.

Isn't khans going to be the first shortened standard block at only 18 months before kicking off the new format when rotating out?

They're treating Khans plus Fate as one block and Dragons of Tarkir plus Magic Origins as another block. Khans + Fate rotate out in Spring 2016 and Dragons + Magic Origins rotate out Fall 2016.

Oh I thought all 3 Khans, Fate, and Dragons was going to last till fall.. I misinterpreted it seems.

Either way next spring is a long ways off!!! time to start buying Khans since I got a decent set of Fate going already!
