The finals went fairly well as a mirror. Temur Sabretooth broke it much better than Sentinels.

The pictured mirror match went to a draw on game one and after like 20 minutes on turns they stopped at like turn 3/4. Poor PSully, you could hear his soul withering and dying over the course of the matchup.

Just got to where Sam passed the turn at 222 life after starting the turn at ~20. This is definitely worse than Eggs. At least when Eggs does this the opponent usually ends up dead.

I think a bow of nylea would be better tech with sabertooth. Attack with polukornos then before blocks monstrous him and ping everything for 1 with deathtouch. Rinse repeat.

If only Crafterhoof Behemoth was legal. Play for minimum of +10, if late mirror then bounce back with sabretooth and repeat a few more times. Even 400-500 is doable with 10-15 50/50 tramplers.

Absolute trash deck and the mirror matchup rate is gonna skyrocket for the next two weeks completely fucking the system with a flood of draws.

I don't see much bland for Standard. All I see is green/red dragons and I'm happy as hell.

Seems like a decent number of constructed-quality cards. The storyline flavor is excellent too (they reprinted cards from Khans with new art and flavor text and it totally works).

I usually collect foil sets of the new sets that come out but I lack motivation to get DTK's set...maybe I'll save my effort/money for modern masters 2 lol

+1/1 triggers heroics +1/1 then pit-fight triggers heroic again effectively giving +3/3 and pit-fight for 2 mana?

or do you only get +2/2 because you've only cast one spell? even if that spell targets it twice?

No. It's a single spell with two effects. The Heroic text states "you cast a spell that targets", so a single spell only triggers heroic once as that spell having two effects does not make it two separate spells.

I feel exactly the opposite, as a commander player and a cube owner I'm extremely excited for DTK. 2 fun looking PW, lots of playable (!) dragons some of which are legendary, and new commands. I'm really not sure where you're getting "bland" but I suppose we look for different things in a new set (I haven't played with a 60 card deck in over 5 years).
