For everyone buying Modern Masters this weekend have fun with it, just remember your box most likely will not be this box.

So funny story. My LGS did a midnight MM2 draft. 20 ppl signed up so 2 pods of 10, awkwarddd... In 1 pod a guy opened noble hierarch, foil ulamog, foil prime titan. In the other pod...... I was watching over the guy shoulder. He opens V Clique and he just kinda looks at it and I walk by and I'm like "Woah money over here!" and then he just kinda looks at me and then picks it. I'm like <_<... Apparently like no one looked the prices up on shit. Said V Clique guy opens Goyf pack 3 and is like oh snap and picks it. He then proceeds to get passed 3RD<----- PICK Foil Fulminator Mage. I'm like Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooow. Enjoy the 300$ bruh.

Scrubs <_< As an update, since starting to play again I'm 16-0-1 with Abhzan Control and 3-2 with Esper. I can't stand Esper though. It seems to just trade one-for-one until it cannot anymore, jam a Dragon which is easy to deal with, and then pray for Digs to bail it out at the latter end of games, if it can survive that long.

Yeah I'm doing a draft of MM tomorrow, and that shit is falling straight into money drafting territory for every single pack. Gonna buy a box before FNM tonight because fuck it, but I'm looking at it as no more then high stakes gambling or hopefully some trade fodder to round up some Bitterblossoms.

You could buy something like 7.2 Bitterblossoms for the cost of a box.

Well, couldn't buy a box anyways since I didn't know I'd have to reserve one. Got a Spellskite and foil Emrakul out of the 3 packs I was able to buy though, so I'm good.

And yes I know I could just buy Bitterblossoms, but I usually buy a box of whatever set comes out while I'm playing out of habit, so having some fresh Bitterblossoms floating around the shop would make it easy to round them up.

I have not purchased any product yet but I do plan on drafting as much as I can at my lgs and of course I will be opening almost a full box worth over the course of the gp vegas this weekend. Though I guess I won't be opening my own cards this weekend. That is probably my least favorite part about competitive REL sealed...

started to get really excited as i slid a green mythic foil out of the stack, but it was a primeval lackluster pulls all around, only other money-ish cards i got were iona, leyline, fulminator, and splinter twin. my only hope is that my friend pulls a goyf out of his half, we had an agreement to sell and split if either of us hit.

so there's some hope left, and it wasn't quite as bad as lighting $120 on fire, but all in all i probably should've just bought a force of will.

Similar stuff happened at my FNM last night. A group of dudes showed up thinking we were drafting DTK. Found out we were drafting MMA 2015. They had no idea what the set was. Paid the $40 because whatever and proceeded to pass Daybreak Coronets and Leylines. Not a single one of them knew what was in the set other than Goyf.

Foil Primeval isn't so bad, but it's almost always more cost effective to buy singles than opening packs.

Everyone at my draft last night was instructed to not be that guy and tell younger people in the draft what they where getting into. The only thing that was passed of value was a foil fullminater.

indeed. i can't really complain, i knew exactly what i was getting into, it was basically an expensive lottery ticket. it wasn't a total bust, and i've got some nice trade fodder out of it. it does put an end to my absurd luck with boosters the last several months, but i suppose that was bound to happen eventually.

in non-MMA related news, i had no idea SCG was doing an open in worcester today until about 15 minutes ago. kinda wish i'd known in advance, i probably would've given it a go but i didn't wake up until after registration was already over. oh well, i guess i can hope all of the local miracles lists will be tied up in day two and miss tomorrow's weekly.

I don't even play magic really anymore. But yeah, this set really didn't look too stellar. People at my lgs did seemingly well though. My friend p1p1 foil clique p2p1 bob, so that's sweet.

Couldn't help myself during FNM (got 1st in draft, Corpseweft too stronk. Yes I'm being serious) and bought 3 more packs of MM. Foil Prime Time, Foil Eye of Ugin, and Kiki-Jiki. Made money on 5/6 packs I've bought, but not sure how much I want to keep pushing my luck.

after my friend paid me back for his half of last week's box, i bought my first force of will. i have officially crossed a threshold that i didn't see coming (but probably should have) when i decided to casually pick the game back up a year ago. when i built my first deck from scratch i probably dropped $50 on the initial order and felt like i went overboard. less than a year later i've dropped twice that on a single card with full knowledge that i'll be buying three more in short order. sheeeit.

after i finish off FoW, i'm torn on whether to go hard and stick with reanimator (which will require converting shocklands into u.seas) or work towards monoU omnitell, which will probably be both cheaper and more viable.

Nice. I stopped buying packs. The $10 lotto ticket is just too much of a gamble for me.

Grats and good luck. That's how I felt when I bought my first Goyf for $50 several years ago. Once you have the one you're committed to buying 3 more, but it feels good once you have the playset.

I'm currently trying to track down Useas as well and I promised myself to not just buy them outright. I've been selling random cards and amiibos on Ebay and buylisting stuff and am about halfway there, but I'd like to get them all in one shot rather than one at a time.

Is it bad that I have a senior Highschooler who's magically obtaining cards and won't tell me how, possibly ripping off his casual friends/stealing cards from where ever, and selling them to me for 60% of the lowest TCG Player shop price? He doesn't have a job and he might be joining the National Guard after graduation, so he's been producing the cards fairly quickly.

Getting the value feels great, but not knowing where the shit comes from and "potentially taking profit away from my LGS" does not, but they sell at mids and open prize support to presale the cards.

    Meh, morality.

Or maybe he's getting some of those magical Chinese proxies?
