Honored Heirarch may be the worst mana elf ever printed, and it is rare? I would MUCH rather have Llanowar Elf ffs....

Set design continues to get worse and worse.

A lot of the cards in this set seem to be powered down versions of old cards. There are worse versions of Stoneforge, Birds of Paradise, Timetwister, Opalescence, Demonic Tutor.

Worse versions of cards are less fun to play with, which makes Standard dreadful.

I guess it fits with the origins moniker to have watered down old good cards. In before weirdly bad dual lands

The art on them doesn't even look good. In fact, a lot of the art is straight shit. Look at the hand on the new Jace....

Didn't we already get weirdly bad dual lands? I thought that is what the comes into play tapped scry dual lands were. (Mostly because they were rare instead of uncommon)

The scry lands in Theros block weren't awful. At least you got some kind of benefit from the land while it was tapped out unlike most multi color lands these days.

I didn't necessarily think they were awful I did think they were pretty bad for a rare slot, I thought the previous iterations of rare dual lands were better. Like from Scars Block and the core sets.

I mean fetchable but with a weird stipulation ; has some added cost or timing restrictions or the like

That would be weird indeed. Fetchable but when it enters the battlefield if you didn't play it from your hand pay 1 colorless or sacrifice it? You mean something like that?

Ya something like that. Fitting the theme of timetwister reprint, but with timing restriction. Knockoff SFM, knockoff noble heirarch.

Are the dual lands from revised still even allowed? I see the prices on some of these cards, and it makes me cry as I sold out when I was broke and Magic was in a major decline.

So fetchable and can produce colored on turn 2. Interesting. Not sure of my opinion until we see how the format shapes up.

Not one for speculation but something like that would please me. Hell, even fetchable painlands would be nice.
