I grew up playing with Brian Davis and Craig Wescoe. Craig actually built that Necro deck. I beat Brian Davis in a Power 9 tourney in the finals of a mirror match with that deck.

He said fetch lands wouldn't be in the first set but said nothing about the others. We will be in Zendikar for a while so I think there is still time.

Knew something was up when they reprinted enemy painlands in origins, so I can't say I didn't see this coming.

Allied pain lands make sense in the next block assuming they reprint enemy fetches in whatever comes after bfz.

going by TCG low, tarn is already more expensive than the non-blue duals (barring bayou).

Go figure that a R/U fetcher is gonna be a big draw, especially since it'll fetch anything with "Mountain" or "Island" in the typing even if they're non-basic lands. Including classic duals. And thin your deck on demand. For a measly life point. And neither land starts tapped, so it doesn't break your tempo either.

Won game day with the gw enchantress list from the pt. My opponents were getting so pissed. It was great.

The deck cost about 20 bucks outside of the fetches which is the whole reason I played it haha.

Anyone else not enjoying this limited format?

Miss a land drop? You lose.

Miss playing a two drop? You lose.

On the draw? You lose.

OK, maybe it's not that bad, but I haven't seen a format that punishes missing tempo since zendikar. I've drafted so many decks that I feel are awesome on paper. Last night I drafted a deck with 6 thopter makers and the artifact lord, but get fucked because not having an answer to early exalted guys = you lose.

I was seriously baffled why adding Scry 1 to Time Ebb made it uncommon, but then I realized how damn good it is in this format. Defeat was like a pick 7+ in DTK, but Reave Soul is like a pick 2 or 3 in this format. Yeah, Defeat is worse, but Reave Soul occupies the same slot with renown.

I went to another draft that was literally every bear I could get my hands on, Nissa and 2 Joraga Invocations and easily 3-0. Such skill. Magic is hard. etc.

Its a much more punishing limited format for sure. Topan Freeblade T2 and u dont have a bear/reave soul? You probably lose. T2 Wolf into T3 Wolf and no response? You probably lose. I'm not particularly excited about the format, but its not horrible.

GP Detroit, last feature match of day 2. Huey vs Strigist(sp?) was AMAZING to watch. I would highly recommend watching the 3 games.
