The series will have man lands, whether its BfZ or the next smaller set.

Yesterday they said during the Twitch stream that it would be the 5 new dual lands, and two 10 card cycles in the BOZ set with 20 different cards in the next set. Then they went on to show Arid Mesa and Steam Vents so I think it's fare to say that it will be the 5 new dual lands, the fetches and the shocks.

God damn the art on those is amazing. It makes me sad that I will likely never see a single one let alone a playset of any of them.

I preordered a playset of fullarts for under $200.

    My secret?
    Spoiler: show

Deer lord we'll never see these sell for a reasonable price

A lot of the MTG finance guys seem to think that this almost makes it certain that they don't plan to reprint the enemy fetches at rare.

Yeah, it'll be insane. If I pull any of these somehow, I plan to stick them in a binder and not look at them for 2-3 years.

i figure if i don't hit one, i'll probably just grab a box and stash it away for a few years. at least if i can't cash in on the cards themselves, i'll be able to make a tidy profit off of someone willing to risk several hundred dollars for a chance at them.

I think this is what I will do too.

This is exactly the worst kind of thing that Wizards does when reprinting cards. It actually makes it worse than better with respect to prices and demand. It really sucks. This is going to be like the MM effect but even worse.

This is going to cause a clusterfuck for people wanting these. My facebook pages on MTG are just freaking out about these.

Reminds me of Goyfs in MM1. Everyone lost their shit over it, even before the set came out and the price of them jumped up like 150 bucks.

Best I'm hoping for is ganking casuals that don't follow the market. Headhunting prerelease weekend almost never fails to net a few copies. Best catch to date was a foil JTMS I obtained for $30 and an excellent condition 90s khalsa brain playmat for a pile of nickel rares.

possibly a new low for donation-begging/crowd-funding? bryant cook gets his JP foil brainstorm slightly damaged during a tournament and turns to the general public to buy him a replacement. he took it down, but google cache caught it:

What makes someone think that's remotely appropriate behavior?

On the other hand, this is why opponents shuffling your deck is bullshit. Just cut the deck you hyper sensitive fuckwit.

Accepted risk sleeving up your bling at an event. At worst if they try to aggressively riffle shuffle your legacy deck just call over a judge to shuffle for him then. Getting put on radar by level 3+ judges is a great way to either fix their shit or get them booted out.

Still a dayum shame about that Brainstorm though. My favorite version too.

My LGS was discussing that on our FB group. Asking for donations is borderline pants on head crazy. He even posted it on thesource and the Legacy subreddit and both got nuked pretty fast, unsurprisingly.

It's a shitty situation no matter what side of the situation you're sitting on, but it's still the accepted risk if you choose to play with $300 foil Japanese brainstorms when a $1 English Mercadian one does the same exact thing.

Not related to the discussion at hand, but the PAX Prime exclusive playmat is pretty damn awesome.

I agree that asking for donations was tacky, but it pissed me off more that the guy that did it was doing nothing to fix his mistake. He fucked up someone's property. Compensating that person isn't dependent on whether or not you win anything at the tournament. Then for him to basically say that it was Bryant's fault that HE fucked up the card was bullshit.

There was a second mat as well. The above one was also on the prize wall, this one wasn't (purchase only).
