That Flooded Strand looks awful. It's just missing the Care Bears and My Little Ponies heading to the end of a rainbow to find a box of lucky charms.

It is pretty but it isn't close to the prettiest. Personally I like the Unhinged lands better and the guru lands. Also what do you guys think these lands will go for given the rarity and the fact that they are used in every deck ever?

I mean. I'll use them in my decks because I like to show them off and I probably wouldn't trade them so keeping them pure mint wouldn't do me any good. And I only use foil unhinged basics in any of my decks so I get the love for them.

I hate all the full art and unglued lands. Way back in the day it's what the scrubs used who couldn't get guru and apac lands. After I came back to magic, it's like everyone and their mom wants to use them which makes it even worse.

Guru are the best basics, but these expedition lands aren't basics so I don't know why we would compare the two.

As for price, I'll go with Polluted Delta as each will differ. Out of the gate month 1, $400-500. In 5-7 years, IF THESE GO UNRPINTED, you are looking at 2-3,000 for a single one.

Eh, I like the original Zendikar full art lands. I generally use my JP Urza block lands if I have a enough to fill the entire deck, otherwise I'll just run Zendikar ones.

I have a lot of JP/CN Urza lands if you want them next time I see you.

Does anyone agree/disagree on my price assessment of these lands in a handful of years? I think opening one of these will be like opening a Mox if you hold it for 5-7 years.

Eh, I don't think so. There's still going to be far more of these in circulation then there were with the older cards.

If think they'll for sure be in the hundreds, but I don't see them going into quadruple digits.

Japanese Foil Onslaught Polluted Delta - $2300-2500 right now. This is a rare slot foil.

You are telling me something printed at only Mythic Foil with much more sought after art won't fetch (hehe) the same price in 5-7 years?

As someone who used to be a hardcore collector, I can almost assure you investing in these now will pay off 4-5 fold in that 5-7 year time frame.

Polluted Delta, Scalding Tarn, and Flooded Stand will all hit the $1000+ mark by just this time next year.

Right but Magic is bigger then it's ever been, and with it comes more cards being made. Even as "recently" as Onslaught there was a much smaller circulation of cards. They will absolutely gain value (I'd say your 4x evaluation is accurate given what we've seen with sought after cards in recent years) but I don't think it will be to *that* ridiculous of a degree.

They are already being pre-sold for $400 a piece right now by most major dealers. 4x that would be $1600.

Also, I think the large playerbase actually helps with their value on these. There are not non-foil or rare versions of these lands, only Mythic Foil. More people will want them and their supply is at an all-time low for a Magic card from a new set. People who want them want 4, making demand even higher. Also, these are the type of cards that people will get 4 of and never sell (like me). This means of the ones that are out there in 5 years, a decent % of them won't even be made available for sell/trade.

Edit: Also, boxes of this shit will eclipse Worldwake prices and make it look like cheap as soon as they stop production and boxes become limited at shops.

I would assume the price is fairly well inflated right now, once the cards are actually out in the wild I'd expect it to level off for (at least) $100 less.

Very doubtful that Fetchlands will reach that low. If they do, you'd be smart to buy up any you can (especially blue) at $100.

Sure, there will be more of these printed than what was printed in older sets, but the demand for these is going to be MUCH higher than what some are thinking.

-Cube owners are likely going to want 1 of each for their cubes since this will be the "Pimp" version when it comes to English language Cubes.

-EDH players will likely want 1 of each for their pimped out decks (barring language uniformity).

-Constructed players with a large disposable income/trades are going to want a PLAYSET of certain lands for their primary decks. This is where the demand for Blue lands goes up dramatically (think Vintage, Legacy & Modern). The hardcore players who already have everything else will have no problem paying a premium on these if that's all they have left (currently) for their decks.

-Collectors will probably be the smallest group to want these, but there are some that collect every promo/land/full art/whatever and will want these.

Khans Polluted Delta foil is currently $100 on SCG. This will likely be the bottom until it ever gets reprinted again. I can't see any of the Blue Expedition Fetches going below $200 (if that) based on their rarity compared to the Khans Delta. For reference, Onslaught Set Foil Delta (first printing) is currently $400 on SCG with the Judge foil being $250.

I like the Flooded Strand art, but it wasn't enough to make me want one. Misty Rainforest though, that I want. The art is beautiful and reminds me of Link to the Past.

At the very least, I want to buy a print of it (and probably others).

Edit: He already has this print up on his store. You can also see the image in better detail there.

I'm not saying they'll be 100, but that I'd expect that ones currently sitting in the 400 range would drop to the 300 range once the set actually comes out.

I would buy these at $200 each if they ever got that low just to sit on them and resell them. I agree with everyone here they are going to be ridiculously expensive.

Here is the likely trend for these (Sac Lands, not shocks):

Out the gate first 2 weeks: $300-400 each depending on which it is
    - Supply is very low due to rarity

Month 1-2: Falls by $50-100 depending on which one because of booster drafting / box buying
    - Supply is at it's highest in terms of trading and buying

Year 1-2: Casuals aren't buying boxes or drafting this and production of boxes haults: $450-1000 depending on which it is
    -Supply starts to become static

Year 5+: If never reprinted (exact art), users and collectors become unwilling to trade or sell, unless sell price is astronomical (see Polluted Delta Onsalught foreign): $1500-3000 depending on which it is
    -Supply is extremely low

Verdict: Buy the fuck out of them now, if you can.

I am going to wait until month 1-2 range then buy as much as I can get my hands on locally if they do drop down a bit. Or maybe I can snag a couple right away from people on release day at a low price who are looking to snap sell.

The ChannelFireball guys had the math down to: 27,600 estimated packs.

This is the number you would need to open to get a playset of every Expedition Land.

There has never been anything close to this in Magic. Just because it's going to be the most opened set of all-time isn't going to do the price of these any favors, AT ALL.

that void winnower is pretty hilarious. i think it shuts off all of storm's main wincons, counterbalance/terminus/venser and a whole host of other fucked up things. doesn't dodge StP or will of the council, but i might test it out in reanimator to see how well it does.

looks like it fits with MUD pretty nicely too, that paired with a chalice on 1, dear god

Hideously enough it also flat out hoses Counterspell, Wrath of God, and plenty of other amusing oldschool spells. And Moxes/Lotus, because 0 casting cost. What a beautiful, horrible creature it is if you can force it out early.
