Whoa, so I actually really like this land:

This land cycle will be very good. The blue one is insane. If you look at the bottom of the card, it has it's rarity. "R"

Felt the need to post again after thinking about this land. I bet it is HEAVILY played in the new Standard. This is one of the best non-basics in a very long time. I'm shocked this is an uncommon instead of rare.

This thing keeps happening these past few standards. I will be like, "X card is good right? Like, it's really good right?" When rhino was spoiled I was like wow broken card and immediately built an abzan deck. People around me were like "ehh I dunno about 4, why not try 2 out and play polukranos and gorgon?" I was like "I mean I guess...." Same with den protector. I saw DP and was like, this card is ridiculous. I am getting that feeling about this land. I mean, 0 downside. It even comes into play untapped. You get to play a resource that draws cards. You don't have to play artificers epiphany or any menial draw spell. You get to play more threats or answers and your card advantage comes from the more powerful spells, IE Dig.

It is good early, mid, and late game. I dunno if 2 or 4 will be the right number. It also depends if 2 color control or Esper ends up being the better control deck. If its Esper, 1-2 may be all you can afford to play. If its 2 color control (UB or UW), then I think 4 is the number.

Is Ojutai's Command the best counter in new standard that we know of? It seems too good with Jace not to be playing it, if blue control becomes a power house. White needs a god damned 4CC sweeper. Just bring back Day...

Edit: Time to buy Narsets? Uptick in play and value if standard slows down?

FYI I've been tracking Expedition prices on Ebay daily the last 2 weeks. Price today hit $499 on most of them and they are currently completely sold out. People aren't even pre-selling them on there any longer due to worry about quantity availability.

No more seeded packs at pre-release. No more picking factions/colors. Weird. I hope this is the first move towards going back to giving us actually decent promo cards instead of crappy rares.

No lol. There was a pool of promos you could get depending on what faction you chose. It was mostly crappy rares and occasionally you got something good. The promo you got was random.

are we talking per, or playsets?

and i assume that pricetag is strictly for blue fetches. non-blue fetches, shocks, and then especially bad duals each coming in successively lower. i can't imagine anyone spending $125+ a pop on any of those new duals that will never see play after they rotate out of standard.

$499 per for several of the fetches already. The listings got pulled and then put back out for eBay, but no idea as to why. Different sellers so there was no common denom.

So, at my Local standard.

I play a well known asshole. Game 1

Turn 3, he has two Fleecemane Lions out.
My turn 3, I play a land then wait till his turn
His Turn 4. After he says "Draw" I bile Blight his two lions

He loses his shit on me about how only scrubs play Bile Blight and that it hasn't been played in 6 months. When, its one of the best crowd control for standard right now.

He quit and left after that

A couple of games in I get a Spiritmonger out
He casts Extinction naming Beast. I read the card, say okay, and proceed to regenerate.
He then ragequits because I point out Destroy =! Bury and how it meant the same thing back in Exodus (it didn't) and he was a lvl 2 judge so his word was final.
Also gets EXTREMELY buttmad when I swapped to my cheap Skullclamp funsies deck and his fancy vintage deck gets constantly BTFO and says Skullclamp is too OP and should be banned. Starts frothing how much I'm a dick for playing it when I tell him it was (because bringing P9 shenanigans to casual games is totally not a dick play). Didn't see him for months.
A decade later he becomes the current owner of my LGS. And still a fat manchild.

Never have any problems at my stores. People who get salty to the point of being assholes are usually made to feel unwelcome at the 2 stores I go to.

Yeah, I don't really have issues either. One of my stores is owned and ran by Donnie Noland though, probably the best in the business. I dunno what other stores are like these days, but our FNM has a regular 75-100 people.
