Yup. I'm just sitting on mine for a couple of years and the MTG conglomerate decides to just buy them out on tcgplayer to jack up the price.

I opened 3 shocks in the first month of BFZ limited and figured they weren't that rare. Haven't seen one since.

The whole Seance thing is weird. That same guy apparently bought a shit ton of them awhile back and is now doing like you mentioned and offering a reward for someone to actually use the card.

Iirc it's all under the pretense of him trying to manipulate the Magic economy, basically for shits and giggles.

nothing MTG related for christmas, but it looks like i'm gonna finish 3rd in my fantasy league which comes with a $200 payout. i was originally holding out for my annual bonus, but it looks like i'll be starting to piece together my duals collection a couple weeks earlier than planned!

Yeah those are worth a lot now. English foils are $120 each on starcity. How much do you think the JP ones are worth?

JP multiplier for eternal staples is pretty big, i see a lot of stuff that runs a 2-3x premium over the english equivalent. not quite as bonkers as russian foils, but not terribly far behind.

for reference, an english foil snapcaster is sitting at 150-175 TCG low/mid, there's one JP for sale on FB right now for $400.

This is why I buy so much foreign product when new sets release. You can always find a website or auction that will sell them for the exact same as English prices. People are morons...

yeah, i saw that jace. dude had a whole mess of other stuff that was up there in price as well, pretty sure it was all gone within a few days.

for sealed product, if you have a way to get them back to the US cheaply, JP boxes are a steal right now. i think i'm gonna have my friend snag a few KTK boxes to bring back next time he comes home. you can get them for about $80 a pop right now.
