New Sorin is totally unplayable in anything except Standard, and even that is a BIG "if". Also, the art is fucking horrible.

Don't forget about commander, the garbage dump for over costed normally unplayable but fun to play with cards.

Commander is a great market to pander to Johny and Timmy since they love the (competitive) unplayables and they almost always have the bling bug so foils/expeditions/alts/ye olde set prints fetch strong prices. My local EDH group used to hate my guts for being That Guy who showed up with dick-kicker decks but they love me now since I stopped and instead became That Guy who has knows EDH and has the cards they want.

One of the upsides of having thousands of cards and rulings swirling around in my head is I can often hype up new cards against older card interactions to close deals. Downside is having thousands of goddamn useless cards decades old stuck in my head memorized and I can't remember where I just put my car keys.

Main issue I have with Sorin is a 6 mana walker should flat out win you the game. Elspeth, Sun's Champion and whatever the new Chandra is called create inevitability where you will win if they are not answered. There are times where you cast new Sorin and he'll burn your opponent while you draw cards, and there are times when you will flip 3 lands in a row.

the conditional any land tutor seems like it's the only mode that has any potential application, but for a land tutor at G in eternal, you'd probably rather play crop rotation in most situations. maybe some lists would like it in a split with crop rotation? i dunno. between the sorcery speed and conditional requirements, it strikes me as a card that could be completely busted but probably just sucks outside of standard/maybe modern.

It seems much better outside of standard than in Imo. More than likely, it just sucks all around.

My girlfriend and I finally got our first expedition (mind you, we've been through 3 bfz, 3 oath boxes, a ton of drafts/won packs and prerelease boxes)....and we got dust bowl. fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff

Lol one of my best friends has been through 3 cases when you total his boxes + drafts + sealed events, and he has yet to get one from either set.

expeditions are hideous though so i'd def sell it and get a non-terrible version and pocket the difference
