I wouldn't say grossly OP but that's also a card I would likely never pass unless there was some serious money drafting going on.

In the RPTQ I hope and pray I get 3 of those fuckers...
and I guess I didn't mean grossly OP in the limited sense of "play it and win" like a lot of cards.
But I can't really think of what more you could ask for out of a 2 CMC limited card at Uncommon.
Oh wow I didn't initially see the ability when it's flipped.
Yeah that card is dumb as fuck. I wouldn't be surprised to see it show up in constructed play as well.
So i haven't gone to a pre-release in a long time but I'm thinkning about going to one for SoI.
Do they not give out promos for these events anymore? Google is showing me launch promos, box promos, game day promos, but no prerelease.
Is there anything worth grabbing from this set if I don't intend to play a whole bunch of Standard? I'm just not feeling the hype on this one.
Cards that I think will find use outside Standard (not a full list, just the ones I can instantly find uses for)
Drownyard Temple
The Gitrog Monster
Sin Prodder
Relentless Dead
Awoken Horror
Jace, Unraveler of Secrets
Anguished Unmasking
Though, outside of Drownyard Temple in some degenerate Smokestack stuff I don't think any of these will seen play in older formats outside of Modern
They are still promo versions of the cards stamped with the date and foil. There usually isn't a list of cards until after the prerelease but sometimes they pop up. They have been adjusting the prerelease promos and how they work slightly every prerelease recently. I remember this change started with Innistrad and back then they released a list of promos and everyone got the same rare promo based on your color then they changed that.
That green flip card is really good. I actually think it would have been better if the abilities were on the other sides, but he's good either way. That green "fight" card is what BFZ needed for green not be absolute shit.
I sent OGW limited off on a high note by finishing the night by casting Mighty Leap on a Zada and killing my opponent from 31. My opponent is a good friend of mine and tried to body slam me after the game haha.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...aming-coverage
the most impressive thing about this is that they can somehow manage to spend $20,000 and produce something as bad as the typical official coverage most WotC events offer. their coverage quality is the internet equivalent of 3am public access shows.
I have no idea how WotC manages to completely shit the bed for streaming coverage. It's like they spent 20k on lighting and camera equipment only to end up having to use an iphone 3 as a camera with a maglight taped on with the other 19k blown on kinda impressive background props, transition scenes, and a handful of grips/gaffers.
Seriously, just hire the SCG team to run it and bring back the CeddyP & PSully dream team and watch as they hit 6-figure viewers on day one.
20k.....LOL
How did everyone do at their pre-release? I had to play 2hg with a random person. (only time I could make it) we lost first round won second round then got a bye for the third round which sucked. Got 3 prize packs.
He pulled an olivia and an Avacyn. I got a Gitrog Monster...

Went 1-2 in one prerelease, and 2-1 in the other. Both my sealed pools were pretty f'ing terrible.
My 2nd sealed pool had the 7 mana black tutor, the red/blue draw enchantment, and harness the storm...leaving me with a total possible of 4 rares...which werent that great -.-
Made an Investigate deck at Pre-release. Managed to get Ulvenwald Mysteries, Tireless tracker and a shit ton of Investigate cards. Also got Westvale Abbey and a Geralf's Masterpeice.
That deck kicked so much ass. One game I even had a flipped Westvale Abbey and a 7/7 Masterpiece on the board.
Makes me want to make some sort of Investigate token deck for standard
My pool had enough to support forcing werewolves so I forced werewolves because I am never going to get another chance to play werewolves. Got completely blown out. I want werewolves to be good but they aren't. Such a missed opportunity.
