are they just trying to jettison official support for competitive magic entirely?

Once the judges said you were good, I don't see why there was a problem. If anything, it sounds like your opponent was just trying to rules lawyer his way to a win since he knew it was a bad matchup. Those types of players are the worst.

I've done this with non-foils and still ended up with curling. I think it's just a losing battle sometimes.

I'd just double sleeve. I mean your running a ton of Foil cards that you don't want to get damaged anyway, just spend the $15 bucks, double sleeve your deck and keep it in a decent box. Oh also don't leave it in your car that can have not so great results on foils.

I really have no idea why they are basically suiciding their own product; it is making hand over fist more than it ever has.

Yeah this is confusing and worrying. Maybe the fact that it is making hand over fist more than ever is why they think they can make some big changes they have been planning for a long time without killing the game outright?

Or maybe this change is a precursor to the fallout from the pending judge lawsuits. Those lawsuits are going to cost a lot of money and change how the judge system functions.

Oh. My deck is double sleeved and there was still some slight curling. Thankfully I had a friend make top 8 with that asshole and he kicked him out, hard.

GP Charlotte is fucked. WER screwed up and pairings are now random (starting at round 4).

GP LA has been great so far. Great coverage and we got to see an awesome topdeck R2G3. U Tron vs Jund. Jund has a Liliana of the Veil with 6 counters. Tron topdecks the last Tron piece and plays Mindslaver + activation.

Did a Modern 3k today, went 4/2. Did very well and another person playing my Infect list managed to make top 4 so all and all pretty happy.

So I finally decided to back out of magic and start selling (almost)everything off locally. It kinda sucks, but at the same time, I just don't enjoy magic anymore and the community where I am at kinda really sucks. I haven't played in months and even when I play EDH it's kinda ehh. It was a fun and long run of about 8 years or so, no regrets.

I'm going to be selling things locally and will resort to mailing things last. I've never mailed cards and it kinda scares me, so I don't know what I'll do for that.

yeah, if you wind up doing anything by mail i'd definitely be interested in taking a look at what's on offer.

as far as mailing stuff, toploaders inside of bubble mailers will get the job done safely (and tbh the bubble mailer is prob overkill in most cases). since i started up again, most of what i've bought has been from tcg or the high end magic group on FB, and i've never had an issue with cards getting lost or damaged in transit.

GP Charlotte continues to be terrible. Players yesterday were told Day 1 tiebreakers would NOT be carried over due to the random pairings.

Day 2 starts and Day 1 tiebreakers ARE carried over. Players are rightfully pissed.

I've bought some cards online and they came in a basic envelope inside of a plastic card case and thats it. Nothing has ever been damaged.

I've done close to 200 transactions between facebook, motl, mtgs and deckbox. I've only had something lost once the entire time. In most cases, envelope + top loader is fine but you should always get something tracked if it's something you wouldn't want to be "lost".

Yeah, I have a "decent" amount of higher end-ish stuff. I'm keeping a few things for nostalgia reasons, but other than that, everything goes. A lot of the stuff I probably won't be able to sell locally... But, I'm not in a rush to get rid of everything. People wanted to buy things for what vendors do, and I'm like, uh no? I don't mind cutting deals, but I'm not selling you a 3 foil fetches for 100 lol.

GP LA finals is Affinity vs Merfolk. The Affinity player is only 13 years old and it's his first GP.
