And if they are running thopter depths then you lose to thopter combo lol
I'm not saying it's unbeatable, quite the opposite obviously. But a turn 2 20/20 with no drawback shouldn't exist. Hell I remember when stifle on phyrexian dreadnought was the tits.
It still is :>
It actually won me the only Type 1 tournament I've ever won. The weekend after Scourge came out I Begged borrowed and stole 4 Stifles. Everyone was trying storm decks and other silly shenanigans and I sneaked in with that combo. It's near impossible with all the force of wills in type 1 these days![]()
What is Progenitus' plan-B when it gets sacrificed to something like Gatekeepers, or Anowon, or Cruel Edict, or Diabolic Edict, or Hit//Run, etc.
Especially Hit//Run, when it can make a Progenitus deck kill itself.
It's a counter-top deck first and foremost, so it runs Daze, Force of Will, Goyf, Rhox War Monk and sometimes Trygon Predator. Diving Top + Counterbalance is a soft lock for a lot of legacy decks. Personally, I'm a fan of Fish right now, as well as Enchantress being my favorite deck of all time.
I pretty much rely on MTGO these days when I feel like like a game, so I'm considering selling off my physical cards. I'd like to sell on BG, since if I were to sell them bulk to someplace like SSG, I wouldn't get even a fraction of the value, also, I'm not on ebay.
I'm posting here to see if there's any interest, and to ballpark the value. Not going to put up a WTS in that section until I'm sure I'm gonna sell.
It's several thousand cards, ranging from 4ed/Fallen Empires to Tempest & Stronghold, & also Odyssey to Legions, with a bit of Dissension and Time Spiral. Also tiny amounts (a pack or twos worth) of Revised, Exodus, Urza's Saga, Scourge, & Planar Chaos.
Condition wise, they have been played with, but not abused, with the Revised through Alliances being the most worn.
I'd like more than the likely less than $100 I'd get from selling to a retailer, but don't expect to recoup the ~$1,000 they cost me in packs way back when, ofc.
I can get exact counts, & name any cards in set/rarity at request, though I'm not in any rush, so low priority.
I would just love to see someone's perfect turn-3 Marit Lage backfire with a turn-3 Hit//Run.
Rise of the Eldrazi artwork. The Eldrazi remind me of H.P. Lovecraft's mythos.
The first thing that came to mind was:

So, I ran BB Zoo at yesterday's PTQ in Wichita, KS. Got 3rd place after drawing first round (so annoying for breakers..), then winning out 5 in a row to get top 8, first seed. Lost in the semi-finals to Elves.
The deck is absolutely insane, and had I spent more than the 5 minutes making the sideboard (I audible'd into it 40 minutes before the tourney started from a more 'normal' Zee list), I would of put a singleton Volcanic Fallout in the board to help out in the Elves matchup.
Here is my list:
//Lands
1 Bojuka Bog <-- concession to Dredge's power, could probably be a Seijri Steppe or another basic
2 Forest
2 Plains
2 Mountain <-- 1 should be a Sacred Foundry or a Plains
4 Arid Mesa
3 Misty Rainforest
2 Verdant Catacombs
2 Marsh Flats
2 Temple Garden
1 Sacred Foundry
2 Stomping Grounds
Total: 22
//Creatures
4 Bloodbrasid Elf
4 Knight of the Reliquary
4 Noble Hierarch
2 Qasali Pridemage
4 Tarmogoyf
4 Wild Nacatl
Total: 22
//Enchantments
3 Bloodmoon
3 Temporal Isolation (owns Marit Lage)
Total: 6
//Instants
4 Lightning Bolt
2 Lightning Helix
Total: 6
//Sorceries
4 Boom//Bust
Total: 4
//Sideboard
2 Damping Matrix (Dark Depths / Thopter)
1 Relic of Progenitus (Dredge, Living End)
1 Tormod's Crypt (Dredge, Living End)
2 Umezawa's Jitte (Zoo, Fae, Elves, Random Agro)
4 Ethersworn Canonist (should be 3, replace 1 with Volcanic Fallout) (Elves. Hypergenesis. Living End)
2 Baneslayer Angel (Dark Depths that brings in Sphinx of Jwar Isle)
1 Ranger of Eos (Zoo)
2 Ancient Grudge (Thopter Foundry decks, Fae if you want to take out their Jitte, Elves)
Most of the games went as follows:
T1: Hierarch
T2: Blood Moon or Knight of the Reliquary
T3: Bloodbraid Elf cascade into something huge (or Bust, take out all lands)
T4: Win.
There are just too many threats in this deck, it's wicked.
Round 1: U/W Reveillark
0-0-1 (1-1-1)
Round 2: Zoo
1-0-1 (3-2-1)
Round 3: Zoo
2-0-1 (5-2-1)
Round 4: Living End
3-0-1 (7-2-1)
Round 5: Dark Depths / Thopter
4-0-1 (9-3-1)
Round 6: R/W Land Destruction (with Boom//Bust!)
5-0-1 (11-3-1)
Cut to top 8, 1st place with 16 points.
Round 7: U/B Faeries
7-0-1 (13-3-1)
Round 8: Elves
7-1-1 (13-5-1)
Was the loss against DD/Thopter just poor draws?
You can cascade into Boom//Bust? I thought its CMC was 8?
I gave up on Extended PTQs.
Played a martyr deck at the last one and missed Top 8 on tiebreakers so I said fuck it and I'm waiting for standard. I've got something saucy brewing
Also 6 new spoilers at midnight.
It's CMC is 1 or the other. You can play wither side though.
My loss to DD was getting him down to 6ish, then him drawing Hexmage. Just didn't find an answer, which is fine because the next game he had to deal with Matrix, Blood Moon, and 2 more Moons in hand on turn 2 and 3.
Cascade sees the Boom side of Boom Bust (CC: 2), then allows you to play either side. So, you are removing Boom from the game, but because Bust is part of the card removed, it can be played for free. But if the card is revealed by Dark Confidant, you would lose 8 life total (2 from Boom and 6 from Bust).
That seems like a fucked rule to me.
Also what's the point of the basic mountains?
