does anyone here play standard competitively? If so how do you feel about the RDW play of seering blaze on putrid leach from both sides. Would you do it as the RDW player and would you pump in response as the Jund player? I'm interested because RDW has been the first round of every 8 man queue I've joined lately and they always do it and I haven't dropped a game to them yet.
Er, what do you mean? Searing blaze deals 1 or 3. So you would have either have played a land during your turn or popped a fetch during there turn to kill it. As a jund player playing against RDW, I would never pump leach if they have mana open. Searing blaze is kinda difficult though, cause it's take 5 damage and keep a dude or take 3 damage and lose a dude. I'd side out leach against rdw anyways though lol.
The idea is it basically just turns seering blaze into a 2 mana lava axe, or you lose your leach and take 3. I never take out leeches against RDW because they can't kill it so it's a 2 damage beat stick, also jund doesn't have any cards in the sideboard for RDW anyways.
Jund has a lot more threats against EDW as it is, doesn't really need to sideboard.
I'll consider playing standard format when Cascade leaves.

Third and last Eldrazi to be revealed.
So, how do we feel about these level-up mechanics? Seems like Figure of Destiny got its own set.

Interesting although I'm always stand-offish with mechanics that fuck with the standard card layout/border (e.g. kamigawa flip cards, future sight crap, eldrazi colorless, etc.). At least they are all cheap and all these mechanics always bring Gilder Bairn back to mind for interesting fun.
Pretty cheap to level up the Chronologist to 4 and just untap the Bairn to get your double-turns. (gnarly card for multiplayer though I'm sure it would get targeted fast)
I'm pretty excited about it... more often than not I end up with a turn or two of creature stalemates and untapped lands. Especially if I'm playing with some Landfall shit.

This is apparently going to be the prerelease foil. Also, colorless instants and sorceries are confirmed. Of course, we don't know if those will be truly colorless or ghostfire colorless.
I don't know how I feel about level up in general, but I like that vampire.
I have a strong feeling that any colorless instants/sorceries will be Ghostfire-style for each color. Just technically colorless to combat protections...
What. The fuck. Is this.
Me likey Chronologist.
The only other official Level Up card is:
Lord of Shatterskull Pass - 3R
Creature - Minotaur Shaman
Level Up: 1R
Lv.0: [3/3]
Lv.1-5: [6/6]
Lv.6: [6/6] Whenever Lord of Shatterskull Pass attacks, it deals 6 damage to each creature defending player controls.
The reason FoD was so good was because you could do it at instant speed. The sorcery only clause will severely dampen the playability of most of the cards.
Figure of Destiny is regarded as the best one drop ever printed. Those who say it's wild nacatl are communists.

This is a deck I played jund against that just destroyed me, it's also allies... It's hilariously fun and cheap. I already had all the cards so I'm playing it in a daily event right now and just trounced a jund deck, it's really fun to play.
PS: My deck is 7th place in that event.

I'm sure you've all seen this already, but it's probably my favorite RoE spoiler card so far.
Well, here's my answer.

Note that it's a tribal, meaning it interacts with eye of ugin and eldrazi temple.
Ok now I'm pissed. I accepted that certain things weren't tribal because that was a lorwyn block thing (Feast of Blood, Goblin Assault). WotC obviously has too big of a boner for the Eldrazi.
