Not unless they have 2 Flame Slash's! :O!!
What do you guys think of the regionals changes?
It's one per state now right? I never went anyway but that seems stupid.
I wonder why they would do that. I mean, the ones in FL are always in Orlando or Tampa, and that's like 4 hours away, fuck that shit.
http://icv2.com/articles/news/17234.htmlWizards of the Coast filed suit in federal court in Washington on Thursday against four individuals from Alabama, alleging “fabrication of hundreds of people, places, and events, all in an effort to obtain under false pretenses valuable Magic: The Gathering-branded premium and promotional cards they then sold through eBay.”
The WotC suit alleges that one of the defendants in the suit, Jonathon Clifton, was a tournament organizer for Magic: The Gathering from April 2001 until late 2009, when WotC suspended him after buying tournament promo cards from him on eBay. The company alleges that he reported false players and organizers and false tournaments to get promo cards. The take was $3 to $10 per card sold on eBay, according to the suit. Clifton reported 676 sanctioned events during his time as an organizer.
A more ambitious operation apparently kicked off in June of 2009 in the same region of Alabama with some of the same players (Clifton’s wife Jennifer and friends Adam Schlageter and Jason Bailey are the other three defendants), according to the suit. Between that June kick-off and March of this year, 758 Magic events were reported at non-existent venues, with prize support going both to the tournament organizers and to apparently bogus players (including Elijah Clifton, Jennifer Clifton’s son of “less than ten years old”). Over 9,000 cards, including Promotional and Premium Cards distributed to the organizers and Reward Cards sent to players, were sent out by WotC during the 10-month period. The company was prompted to investigate by suspicious sales on eBay.
WotC is requesting an injunction ordering that the defendants cease and desist; damages “exceeding $75,000” on each of four different counts; other damages; and fees and costs.
I always thought there HAD to be someone taking advantage of how valuable Magic cards can be and frauding their way to the bank. I'm not sure if $75,000 spread out over 8 years is worth the trouble of fabricating all that information and selling shit on eBay on a regular basis.
The bottom right number is its loyalty counter, which is like their life points
Each turn, during your main phase, you can use one of the ability, and by doing so you alter their loyalty accordingly
Your opponent can redirect unblocked attack and direct damage spell/ability life loss to the planeswalker, this decreases their loyalty points
Mythic card is wizard's bullshit attempt to make Magic into Yugioh
Basically, it's a rarer than rare rarity, and while they have been trying to make decent attempt to not make them tournament staples, every now and then you run across shit you'd want 4 of in your deck and realized that you're about to pay 100 bucks for the playset.
Got to play some Rise of Eldrazi starter decks against someone from Wizards R&D last Friday. Seems like it's going to be a very fun set.
Ty for the info...what is the best one...well...the most used one in T2.
I seen the blue Jace one, is that the most used/wanted?
Depend on archetype you're using really, planeswalker isn't one of those thing you'd automatically play if you run the color in constructed
As far as most used though, I think it's Garruk
I think Jace, Mind Sculptor is most definitely the most sought-after in T2 at the moment.
And, for a real response to the question, Mythic Rare is one step more rare than Rare. I forget the exact numbers, but I think one in every 6 booster packs is supposed to have a Mythic Rare replacing the one Rare in the pack. It's pretty lame and doesn't really do anything besides drive card values up and help turn purchasing booster packs even more into legal underaged gambling.
Also, opponents can't "redirect" unblocked/uncountered damage to your Planeswalkers as far as I know.
When attackers are announced, the attacking player has to choose who each creature is attacking: the opponent or their Planeswalker(s). Having a Planeswalker in play is essentially emulating having another player helping you (since you are supposed to be a Planeswalker yourself) but you share the same pool of creatures. When you and/or your Planeswalker(s) are getting attacked, any of your creatures can be assigned to block for you or your Planeswalker. Lastly, spells that deal damage to "target player" can also target Planeswalkers. I'm almost certain the same goes with any damage dealt to "all players."
The planeswalker card flavor is supposed to be something like:
You: I need backup! *summon fellow planeswalker*
Jace: Sup, I'm here to help. Tell me which of my 3 spells you want me to cast each turn.
You: Do that one that raises your loyalty by 2!
Jace: Sweet, that's an easy one. I can do this all day. *gains 2 loyalty*
You: Ok, now do that one that drops your loyalty by 4!
Jace: Alright, but that takes a lot out of me, I can't keep that up for long *loses 4 loyalty*
You: *fail to block for Jace and he takes some damage and ends up at 0 or less loyalty*
Jace: Alright, fuck this. I'm not sticking around to die. Peace.
You:![]()
You can't target Planeswalkers with burn spells, you target the player and redirect the damage to the planeswalker. You do directly attack them though.
I would say Jace v.2 and Baneslayer Angel are the two most sought after Mythics.
Also...
The new recall is supposedly:
U
sorcery
As an Add. Cost Tap 4 creatures you control.
Draw 3 cards
Mehh
If it was instant...
Bullshit eldarazi token boosting creature is bullshit >.>
I've never heard that rule explained in that manner but it sounds like it doesn't make a difference at all when it comes down to it. Playing Magic Online, I was pretty sure my opponent straight up Lightning Bolted my Ajani, I don't recall the damage being redirected. Obviously, I could be wrong about that.
It sounds like it's just ruled that way for cards and terminology to make sense mathematically/logically since a card can't really be a "player" without a lot of cards not making sense when it tells "players" to do anything other than take damage. Thinking about it, I feel like there's some kind of technical stupidity in regards to Planeswalkers not actually taking any damage from "all players" damage in contrary to what I stated earlier.
So if someone casts a Bolt, I have to use Counterspell before he decides to target me or my Planeswalker? If so, that is retarded.
And I know I sound like a newbie on here now, but I used to travel for this shit weekly to PTQ/Grand Prix/Etc and Craig Wescoe/Brian Davis were my travel partners. There was a point in time where I knew the rules inside and out, but the above-mentioned just doesn't sound correct.
EIther way, I'm getting back into this shit and the Jund decks look fun. Where do people play online now for practice?
