So I've lost the last 17 dice rolls in a row lol.
/random is /random.
I got steam rolled by Vampires playing U/W tapout, was not amused.
I got hit by turn 4 and then turn 5 Emrakul on Friday night.....scooped the cards quick. Had no removal game 1 and he used the green protection card in game 2.
I feel like Iona is still just better in Polymorph.
Especially with how popular Oblivion Ring is.
I'm not sure about that. The Annihilator 6 seems pretty backbreaking. That and you can sometimes race a prog where you wouldn't be able to race Emrakul.
Emrakul is for sure better than Prog.
Ok, I have some rather noobish questions:
I was told last week I couldn't place down more than one Valakut because the card was named, making it legendary by some made up fairyland rule. I had heard nothing of this before but I am rather new still.
I'm also confused on how sacrifices can be used to my advantage. I had a friend tell me I could use the eldrazi spawns to stop tramples and counter other nasty tricks, however I am unfamiliar with the whole sac'ing thing, the most I have ever done with that is sac lands for doubling landfall, ext. Could someone explain how sacrificing can be used to my advantage with these buggers? Other than the obvious reason to sac them...
I was able to steamroll Polymorph with Valakut just because I was about to Bolt off Polymorph targets. But I can see the deck going off turn 3-4 if there isn't removal or if there is counter backups.
Valakut is not Legendary, the card is only listed as a Land. You can have multiple copies of the card on the board. Also if you have 4 mountains with a Valakut out and bring out 2 more mountains with something like KHE or Harrow they enter play at the same time and both trigger as the 6th Mountain for Valakut.
You can use Eldrazi tokens as bait. If they attack with a creature you can block and sac before combat damage is dealt. Creature is considered blocked and you gain 1 colorless. With M10 rules I'm fairly sure trample would still apply damage though.
Yeah, when you hit the assign damage step against a trample creature, then they would assign no damage to your nonexistant token, and assign all the damage to you. No mad hax![]()
It works with lifelink though.
If I had the cards and were entering a PTQ tomorrow I'd play UW tapout.
Birds are about $7 now. I blame Hierarch for the price drop.
Its still pretty consistent. Since I started playing had the deck built to my preferences I've been finishing in the top. I think I'm 14-2 (4-0, 4-0, 3-1, 3-1) with it now losing to ANT 2 weeks ago and Counter Top-Progenitus tonight. Here's the list I'm playing:
Spoiler: show
This week I tried out the Coralhelm Commander cutting an Echoing Truth and a Lord. Not really sure if I'm sold on him yet even though he has his moments.
jund seems to be the bomb now ... >_<
