My friends want me to go to Orlando for a PTQ. But then I found out that you have to be there at like 10am or some shit, fuck that. I'm not waking up at 9am to play magic![]()

I need help finding a card =x. I remember back in my magic days I had a card that was almost exactly like Icy Manipulator, except it wasn't. Anybody know what card i'm talking about?
Voltaic Key?
Its the Ring of whatever card
Edit - Ring of Gix. I had like 8 foil ones when they were $100![]()
Christ, I remember drowning in those fucking things.
Yeah, cuz they sucked ass.
So after winning 3 8-4s in a row yesterday, ROE draft is the best format ever. ROE sealed is the worst format ever.
Ring of GIX!!!!
Thank you.
The awesome thing about ROE is you are actually drafting an archetype instead of an assortment of good cards, it's been a while since that happened. Gxx ramp splash removal is AMAZING.
I wish WotC would pay someone to completely overhaul all of Magic Online... Graphics, sounds, glitches, horrendous lag... everything feels so 1998. I end up playing it a few times a month, but I would probably play it most days if actually wasn't hideous looking and exhausting to play/click/navigate.
It really isn't that bad. I like the interface.
it r tiem 4 noob questions.
Me and a random dude on MWS. He has:
a bunch of 1/1 tokens, a 3/4 creature, a couple of 2/1 creatures.
I have a 0/6 wall.
He decides to attack me with everything. I take the 3/4 on shield since it's his highest. He then decides to sac a bunch of tokens and a 2/1 creatures becomes like 15/15, but only after I selected where the 3/4 damage went.
I decided to switch target to the 15/15 and told him that shit isn't legal anymore.
He called me a cheater and left.
Was I right? Ghostwheel explained me that you can't do shit like "ok you take that 1/1 on you? 4x giant growth bitch" anymore, so I assumed it was pretty much the same thing except on a different scenario.
As far as I know, you can only activate abilities and play spells at the beginning of combat. Once you've declared attackers you can't do anything. I might be wrong though
Very wrong. You get priority at 4-5 times during combat.
Begin Combat phase
After attackers are declared
After blockers are declared
After first strike damage
and post combat.
You can pump an unblocked creature after blockers are declared. The only thing that has changed is damage using the stack.
You can no longer block with Mog Fanatic and sac it to kill a 2/2 creature, but you can use Giant Growth after your opponent decides to leave your 1/1 unblocked.
You have priority after blockers are declared, but before damage goes through. Once blockers are declared, they are set in stone.
