Hits PW's, therefor bettur, imo.
Finally, good cards.

It intrigues me...
Spoiler: show
If you discard an artifact creature...you are in serious business.
The new Powder Keg / Mini-Nev Disk is probably one of the better cards so far though.
The anvil makes me yearn for a more tribal driven meta. I am really liking SoM so far, it has shitty mythics compared to Zen block (aside from the planeswalkers) which is back to what Wizards promised mythics would be originally, the rares are mostly decent, and even the unplayable ones just look like loads of fun, the commons and uncommons are just phenomenal so far, and I'd love to see decks that don't just revolve around cramming an asston of mythics into a single deck, matching colors for bonus points. (Yes, yes, I know that isn't how all of standard is, but seriously we could do with less mythics jacking up deck prices)
My thoughts as far as the abilities go is mixed so far however, as I was a fan of metalcraft until I saw how brokenly close to affinity it may end up. I still think proliferate feels like a cool tool but not something to design decks around, I was really hoping for modular/clockwork to make a comeback to aid it. I think Infect has a personal place as my new favorite deck idea, but I feel like it needs 10~ more infect cards to choose from to make a truly competitive deck, when combined with a splash of proliferate.
scars of power creep
if I still played competitively I'd be really excited about this block, it harkens back to the days of my PTQs and such - but I just play EDH like 3 times a year now, maybe![]()
Just opened Baneslayer Primeval Titan and Chandra in M11 PTQ online, literally 3 other red playables and really shallow green so I'm playing WU skies with one creature that doesn't have flying and 3 squadron Hawks. Might get there!
If you don't get there then you are pretty fucking worthless imo lol. Did you get a clone? Also, my rating is slowly climbing. Been splitting top4s lately. I think when it updates I will be around 1820?

Infinite turns anyone?
thought of the combo weeks ago when proliferate was first spoiled... read Magosi's final ability carefully, you have to bounce it, meaning cheating extra counters onto it won't help you take more turns than you put into it. It's a terrible card still.
Wait I don't get it. If you play that land, get a counter on it and return it to your hand, you get another turn. Why can't you do it over and over, as long as you can proliferate?
EDIT: Bah nevermind, just read proliferate again. Needs a counter on it for it to be targetable by proliferate![]()
You can't break Magosi. lol
What was your deck?
Yeah wizards is pretty paranoid about that kind of thing. I believe there was even an emergency ban at the PAX tournament because of some card combo that could win in 4 turns 75% of the time.
You need a 3rd card for that combo, because neither amulet or the land have proliferate. It needs an external source, and has it's being said before, I didn't read carefully enough. It doesn't work because there has to be a counter on it for it to be eligible to proliferate.
Took first last night in Legacy with Survival Madness. Only lost 1 game the entire night and that was because I kept a risky hand with 1 land and never drew a 2nd land in 6 turns.
