Yea, I guess you're right to an extent. But there is a point where you can say that what is going on is wrong even if you're not quite sure what the right path is.

Your statement applies more accurately to a layperson, but even then there are shades of gray. "them faggots shouldn't get married" and "we should make all internal-combustion cars illegal right now" are both stupid statements that offer no viable solutions and should be questioned even from laypeople, compared to perhaps statements like "I don't feel comfortable with how the government has been assuming control of private enterprises" or "privatizing social security seems like too much of a gamble and doesn't feel very safe to me" are more reasonable statements from laypeople that don't necessarily require derisive questioning- I think we could agree here.

But yeah, when you have the current GOP professionals making statements often worse (or no better) than what would be understandable from laypeople.... we have problems and I feel it's justified to call them on it.
