How do you name your characters/account names?

Im an anime nerd so i use names from anime I enjoy or variations of their names. Like few of my wow characters are names after Muramasa's legendary weapons. My main is named after Casca from Berserk and my alt is named after Rukia's zanpacto(sp) from bleach, I take alot of time to decide about the names I choose, guess cause im anal.

Berserk is the shit.

Roranora was randomly generated for male taru in FFXI, I liked the way it sounded; it was probably my 6th-ish roll.

Mine comes from the KOTOR random name generator. It gave me alryn, I added an extra a for awesome.

Magus obviously from Chrono Trigger, but I hadn't played the game at the time I assumed the pseudonym. My friend Luke assigned me it and suggested I play the game, the rest is history, it's since grown on me. The PK is for 'Paladin's Kingdom' the clan I was in for Starcraft, at the time when I had first joined the internet and needed to create said pseudonym.

I've always tried to get Magus in new things I join but it's near impossible for obvious reasons.

I feel like I've typed this out like a million times on these forums, we've had a bunch of these kinds of threads.

Can't tell you how many times I've been harassed or even hated because people assume the PK stood for player killer and proceeded to PK or backstab me before I could them (as they thought I would). It also abbreviates to MPK which people nicknamed me in FFXI.

edit2: Oh yeah, and retards who pronounce it 'Magus-spik' or 'Magus-Speak' stop being fucking stupid; it's 'Magus-p-k'.

My nicknames in games had always been a form of "Jay", and usually when I couldn't think of any, I just used "Jay" as is. When it came to FFXI, I couldn't use Jay, so I kinda just closed my eyes, turned my keyboard around, and hit some random keys to finish off the name. Turned out to be Jaybar.

After a year in FFXI, I started using Norse names (and this was before I even realized how much Norse mythology had an impact on FFXI, and also before Einherjar). This was mostly due to Valkyrie Profile, though. I think my favorite was Sleipnir.

Mine are from books/anime that I really liked... certain names I grew fond of. I always try for "Kahlan" from Sword of Truth series (Goodkind), but it was taken in FFXI so I thought about a way to replace the "h" in the name that didn't sound retarded... and came up w/ "katlan" and am f/e known by my friends in any mmo as "kat" lol. But, I like plenty of other anime names from stuff like Love Hina, Fruits Basket, Chobits, Bleach, ect...

i got takedown from when i created a basic VB app that reloaded over the network login screen thru windows.ini to see how many lamer passwords i could steal, there was no goal to it but my buddies started calling me takedown

used it for star wars galaxies, ffxi, wolf ET, and just about any other game/forum i play if its not taken

My "internet name" and FFXI name were just made so many years ago from Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy 7. Magus and Sephiroth were just the coolest characters I had ever really seen in games at the time, and wanted to make a name from them, but couldn't really do it with their names. So, I took Magus' weapon instead. People really enjoy making fun of the Sephiroth part of the name, and I definitely understand why, it is way overused on the internet, but whatever, it works for me.

All of my WoW characters are named after anime characters though, usually related to the class they are in some way. Slighty changed in some situations due to people already having the name.

I never really had to name a character until I played Crystal Chronicles with some friends. Name I went with there was Striker as a reference to one of Shadow's weapons from FFVI.

I wanted to name my FFXI character the same; however, you may notice that there is something missing in my current name. Let's just say after spending a ton of time putting together a POL/FFXI account, all through a PS2 controller (I had no keyboard lol...), I finally made a mistake on my character name.

Best part was, I didn't even notice it until one of my dormmates called me out on it and I busted out laughing. My first n00b mistake in FFXI and it has stuck with me ever since...funny part is, I'm kinda partial to Stiker now for no good reason lol.

As for FFXI, most of my names are from anime.

Spookyelectric is from Boogiepop Phantom, which I used to really like back in the day...I've since found out it's also the name of one of Prince's multi-personalities he claims to have...the one that wrote purple rain or some shit...lol...

As far as other games, I usually use Spookye (as I've grown attached to it, but I'm not cruel enough to make people spell all that) or Aidian, which is my name in chinese.

Oh, and so rezn0r doesn't feel alone...I have a mule named halofourteen ;p
