I have nothing to contribute except this.

Let me explain you how this work.

Women menstruation are because of the ovaries or w/e that clung to the inner vagina walls are dying. Right after her periods ends, it means the ovaries are dead and are producing new ones so there's no real risk of getting pregnant.

Or if someone's resisting at all do you usually go for the "puddle of goo" method before trying to cuff them?
    Broken jaw/nose

Ate pavement after resisting arrest, and trying to bite us.

I'm not into physically hitting someone like some people.

Not to mention a Tazer is a rather precise measurement of force.

How hard did someone hit you with that billy club when you resisted arrest? Three doctors will give you three different opinions. And the cop will have trouble gauging it. Try being precise with a club when you have an angry, thrashing target that's possibly trying to hurt you in the process.

How many volts did the cop zap you with? Here's the Taser, there's the voltage. Non-adjustable.

The woman was a certifiable idiot and lied on television afterwards, to boot. She says in an interview "I wasn't harsh and abusive".

Cue the nice officer releasing the full recording from his vehicle cam of you doing exactly that. Here's to hoping that gets played back every family get-together. It'll be an object lesson to your descendants who hopefully took after the other side of the family.

Rofl, this shit even made it to gizmodo.

Gizmodo - Texas Cops Break Out the Taser on a 72-Year-Old Woman for Being Old and Curmudgeonly - Cop Tasers Old Woman

The spin on it there is worse than the BBC article.

Man, can't believe I never commented on this topic.

Not really much to add. I think the officer was justified. Imagine if the lady would have caused a 5-car pileup or the officer or her were hit by a car and killed. Tazing was a risk and could have killed her but it didn't. Don't get so asshurt over it. Things could have been much worse.

The best part is how you can clearly see in the video attached to that article that a truck was coming in the closer lane when she tried to walk around the cop into the road and was only halfway swerved over by the time he passed them.
