Factory Reset

Okay, So fixing a friends Laptop (HP Pavillion DV2000), and I'm doing a factory reset. For some reason, it's just stuck at 1% on the "Reinstalling original Content" portion of the reset. Got any ideas on what's causing this?

EDIT: Okay, so after it hits 1%, the HDD makes an odd and ominous *CLICK*, HDD activity indicator light goes off, then the hanging begins. Thinking the HDD is borked. Thoughts?

Loud clicks from hard drives are bad and usually indicate damage. Whistling, squealing, and whining are also bad noises. Unfortunately, HP doesn't give you a recovery CD or DVD anymore, and they charge about $20-30 for one. Instead you have that partition on the hard drive, which is useless if the hard drive dies. In your case, that sounds like a dead drive.
