Nvidia has new beta drivers out just so you guys know. Supposedly they help with some stability in BF, but it might be SLi only since they mention the stuttering. Probably still worth looking into considering the current release drivers are terrible and I'm still using the beta from before them.

New in Version 285.79
Includes several bug fixes and performance improvements for Battlefield 3.
Fixes cases of irregular performance (stuttering) primarily seen on DirectX 10 GPUs. The fix improves the performance of both DX10 and DX11 GPUs.
Fixes shadow map corruption seen with DirectX 10 GPUs.
Fixes cases of black corruption lines/triangles with DirectX 10 GPUs.
Fixes black screen during playback using Windows Media Center.

These are also the drivers that enable sli for skyrim.

I was playing a guy last night who was in the little bird and was firing off flares... but when I looked at the killcam he didn't have them equipped. What gives?

One of the choppers have flares by default, forgot which. I believe it was one of the transport choppers so the Little Bird might be it.

AMD put out drivers also, except they were on the 31st (just found them today). From what I can tell, they fixed the stuttering problem I was having, but I also use xfire which was specifically mentioned as part of it.

Anyone up for playing right now? I see a few of you online in the platoon but I don't know how to send messages through Battleblog

I noticed if you fly to the opponents base and take out there air support you get points even if there not in it. Easy way to get some extra points if your having a hard time without any unlocks.

How do people get around like that behind the whole other team? I've tried a few times but can't usually get more than 1 if I don't get spotted first.

Solid Snake indeed lol, i got lucky a few times and snuck up on 3 guys where no one knew i was there and knifed 1-2 before the 3rd either died from a team-mate or turned around.

and i would enjoy this game more if my game wouldn't freeze every 15 min, or i lose my gun and cant do anything.. shit sucks

Every time I flank a group of people and knife one guy, some spidey sense goes off and tells people to do a 180 spray and pop me in the kisser.

I've put in over 100 hours and I have yet to get a melee ribbon. Its not from lack of trying though. I try to be sneaky, but I die so much if I try to knife people.

lol im pretty sure the most melee ribbons i got in 1 match was 3, i think a lot of people were mad that game lmao.

and i finally figured out how to kill people with the MAV, but sometimes people are standing near light poles and stuff i can run into and i fuck up, still gonna go for more tho since that shit is hilarious when they are trying to shoot you down and you just swoop in and kill them lol. i love missing and they turn around like "what was that?!" some look up but others just leave me be.
also i saw someone with a MAV kills dog tag so i want to go for that haha

Same thing happens to me all the time, lol. I see them shooting away not caring about their back at all, so I take out my knife and get in close for the kill, and they always sense I'm there, turn around, and pop me before I can retaliate. I'm not going for melee ribbons or tags atm, so I have learned to not even try to knife people, and now instead just shoot them in the back for the kill. Once I need to start unlocking tags like the melee tags though, I will have to get better at it, because I do sorta suck at knifing in general as is.

knifing people is the best part of this game. only 1 melee ribbon here though =/
