tl;dr: IRNV is getting a nerf of some kind in the near future along with the promised stinger nerf and jet buffs. I'm pretty neutral on the IRNV "nerf"; I'll probably miss it for my Caspian Border bush wookie hunting but that's about it.

It's so hilarious killing people with the MAV, just wish it was a bit easier to connect the hit for the kill. Even if I don't get it though, they have a tendency to start firing wildy into the air and get picked off by a sniper.

Lack of SOFLAM and EOD users in this game puzzles me.

Also played with a guy who was questioning my use of javelins during rush games. Guess he doesn't know the benefits of top-down damage when people actually laser designate.

I use the EOD but I wish they would simplify the controls, It just zooms around wildly or spins in circles for me. I normally end up just planting the bitch next to an M-Com then activating it to defuse. It's funny when people are confused as to what the hell just happen and plant a bomb on it again, I just defuse it again.

Are you controlling it in First Person view? I use it in Third Person, it's way easier to control.

edit: Neat, I just got my first hatemail, or at least that's what would best describe it. Basically, some tard is bragging about how I didn't kill him in his jet with mine, since he bailed out before it blew. Now, I shot this guy's jet down about fifteen times and I know for a fact I killed him at least three times. I just don't understand the logic in bragging about being terrible.

I have noticed this as well the few times I have tried to use the EOD bot for anything, be it trying to solder people's heads to death or repair a vehicle. Even in third-person view, when I just barely move my stick, the dang thing nearly does a 180 degree turn, and it also seems like one of the wheel treads will break after prolonged use, as almost every time I have used the EOD, it has ended up mainly driving with just 1 wheel, making controlling it's movement even more difficult.

That being said, I'm a big fan of the engineer class (I would go as far as to say it's my favorite class in the game), I just prefer to use mines over anything else available in that slot, since they net me anywhere from ~300-1500+ experience a match depending on how many vehicles are available, and how many people group up in said vehicles.

Global Battlefield community manager Daniel Matros confirmed today that on the console versions
of Battlefield 3, the Back to Karkand maps would allow for the choice of three or five flags.
When asked to clarify if that meant all of the maps in Karkand would offer that ability, Matros stated:

"You can choose either a 3 flag setup or a 5 flag setup based on servers available in the server browser."

He then clarified further by stating that CQ "has two modes on console"-CQS (3 flags) and
CQ (5 flags)-and that all maps in Back to Karkand can be played in either mode.

i was messing around today with the MAV and managed to get 8 kills with 1 MAV lol, im sure i made a bunch of people rage quit also, or it was because i was spotting everything and they were getting owned

and the subject about the javelin and recon not using SOFLAM, im pretty sure most people have no idea what it does because every time im using the javelin and tell a recon to pull out the SOFLAM they do nothing, you really need friends to do it or its useless because they place that shit in the most awkward spots and dont laze anything if they do use it.

This guy in particular was bitching that I was using a JAV in the first place. The sniper in our squad was good with the SOFLAM the other guy just thought it was a waste of time.

well I mean, is there any particular use for a soflam AND a jav when half the team is engineers and uses rpgs any ways? I haven't messed with either of them so I don't know exactly how good they are compared to just smashing the tank with rpgs.
