GameStop lists PC specs for Battlefield 3

GameStop has listed the PC specifications for Battlefield 3 which aren't quite official, but it should give you a good indication of what kind of rig you'll need to run it.

Minimum:
- Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz, 2GB RAM
- DirectX 10 or 11 compatible Nvidia or ATI video card [that really narrows it down!]
- 15 GB disk space for disc version and 10 GB for digital version
- Windows Vista or Windows 7

Recommended:
- Quad-core Intel or AMD, 4GB RAM
- DirectX 11 compatible Nvidia (GTX 460) or ATI (HD 6850) video card
- 15 GB disk space for disc version and 10 GB for digital version
- Windows 7 64-bit

Hopefully the official specs will actually list things like the type of minimum video card or recommended quad-core clock speed. Then again, you'll probably know whether or not you can run this properly based on the recommended specs.

I'm kinda happy if it isn't on steam. I have gamestop giftcards to use, and I had some errors with BC2 on win7 x64 requiring me to disable aero whenever steam was opened.

I have the EADM/Origin version and it worked fine except for some patch crashing when I got it. I may buy the boxed version at GS because you know it's going to be a big game. Not gonna dl all that in one sitting on shitty internet.

I use the EA download version of BC2 and I get that "do you want to disable aero" thing every few launches if thats what you mean on win7 x64 too.

I wouldn't trust Gamestop with the specs, they also have it listed for earlier release than November, unless I missed something on the last page. If a 6850 is recommended, what would you need for the highest settings?

Also:

Daniel Matros (DICE Community Manager) has been talking in a podcast by Dont Revive Me Bro. He has recently confirmed that snipers will get scope reflection & scope sway to balance out the addition of prone. Snipers that stay still for a certain amount of time will have a reflection in their scope that will give away their position (appears as a small flash to the enemy). Snipers will also have scope sway to stop people from overusing them. Scope sway ensures the constant movement of the cross-hair so its not as simple as “aim and shoot”.These features will help in balancing the addition of Prone and will stop snipers from constantly camping.

They have the release date correct. It was announced at e3 to be 10/25

Well today it’s Thursday and that means it’s time for another update from the Official Battlefield Blog. This time we get our first look at the Battlelog feature in Battlefield 3. DICE has proved to us once again that they are going a step further with Battlefield 3 and I must say, Battlelog is looking pretty damn impressive so far. Especially the built in chat function. The blog posting is only on the German Battlefield page now, but hopefully the English version will be released in the next hours to come. We will keep you posted.
