Hasn't it always been that way? No medics I mean. It's been a very long time since I've played BF2 and I haven't played any of the bad companies, but 2142 was like this I think.

EDIT: Oh I see, BF2 had more classes. It's been a while. I liked 2142's 4 classes though and picking which trees I could unlock.

There's suppression in this game. It's the shit that makes your vision blurry and makes you hear wizzing bullets in your ears when you're hiding under fire. Your health doesn't regen while being suppressed, and that's why people get "Suppression Bonus +10" for firing in somebodies direction when they are killed.

Bad Company 2 has an entirely separate Medic class who specializes in (surprise) healing people, reviving dead people, and LMG's (which I think were originally intended to provide cover fire but ended up being so accurate that Medic is usually better than Assault on pure infantry maps).
