stupid question as a console peasant, is there any need for me to sign up for the battlelog site? I need an origin account which isn't high on my list of things to have.

Ok, so, I figured out my mouse binding issues. A workaround I had put in place with Logitech SetPoint for the BF3 beta was somehow still in place, so once I figured that out it was easy to fix.

Regarding the PC version of the game: I haven't touched multiplayer yet, but the campaign is a visual orgy and runs absolutely great on my system ([email protected], 16gb RAM, Radeon 5870) at 2560x1440, High settings (default). I did encounter a few strange bugs, for example: in the first firefight, no matter where I aimed and shot, I was shooting my allies in the back and the mission wouldn't progress, so I was forced to gun down all my allies and restart. It was fine once I restarted it. Second, near the beginning where you're creeping around on the roof trying to dodge a sniper, when I picked up the RPG, the first three times I aimed it at the hotel and fired, it hit an invisible obstacle right in front of me, killing me and forcing a restart. Otherwise, it's hot shit, it's fun, and anyone on the fence about this title should definitely be picking it up.

Yea it's awesome both visually and for the gameplay, but it crashes so often for me. I get no lag at all, just random crashed until I reinstall my GFX driver (GTX570)

This is a fact. I'm not sure why DICE chose to use such an early build for the beta, but the full release is legendary and is easily THE best looking PC game ever. id Software could learn a thing or two from DICE and Frostbite 2.0.

This is one thing I'm actually VERY happy about. It looks like the Catalyst drivers support xfire, because leaving the settings on auto, most of the are high or ultra, and 16xAA is enabled. Only played the campaign so far but it looks fantastic.

Waiting for patches to download and the game installation (and then I'm assuming I have to install the high res textures separately) is driving me nuts.

Having some issues in multiplayer I thought they had fixed part way through Beta, falling through the ground on open parts of metro first stage.. stuff like that.

Campaign seems pretty fun, although some parts on hard are... hard. Go in the open, 3 hits and you're down. Just how I like it.

That sucks :/ No extra weapon for me. Only allows selection of Poland, France, Italy and United Kingdom, and when I choose United Kingdom and insert my birth number it simply gives me the message "Sorry, this content is not available to you", even though I'm 24...
