Ultimately it'd be the goal of sharing recipes we can swap and actually make. Try to keep responses positive, and either a recipe or a critique of a recipe made from another poster.
Noones reinventing the wheel here, just how they make a dish and maybe someone may wanna make it for dinner that night.
I'll begin with our family's Goulash.
- 1 1lb raw hamburger meat
- salt/pepper of preference
- Whole peeled italian tomatoes in a can
- onion x1 (whichever color you prefer)
- red pepper x2
- green pepper x2
- any pasta you like, I use elbow noodles (1 whole box)
1. Boil the pasta and strain while
2. cut the onions and peppers into small, chopped pieces and set aside
3. Drain the tomatoes from the can and place on a cutting board. Cut them into small pieces (which will be mushy, dont sweat it) and here's the major key -- add about half a cup (more/less to taste) of white sugar directly to them. Crucial for taste.
4. Brown the hamburger in as little olive oil as you can
5. Add the onions, green/red peppers into the same pan as the hamburger (while still cooking it) and toss them well in the natural oils. After literally just a few minutes, add the cut up and sweetened tomatoes. Cook for another 3 or 4 minutes
6. Remove, and pour into a LARGE bowl with the pasta and mix well. The oil of the hamurger/veggies will make it almost like a sauce.
Enjoy! About 15 bucks and it'll make enough to feed you for about a week. Delicious German favorite. (adapted by my own family over the years)
