When you are on the test realm, you are working to improve their game. You are providing Blizzard a service. It's supposed to be buggy as hell, if the bugs were incidental and no big deal, they'd just release the patch and use smaller patches to fix it.
Seriously, don't fucking whine about PTR
If you think the PTR was bad, you would of hated the wotlk beta...
I remember a bug where a certain new pet hunter crashed the server every time it used one of its abilities (well 50% chance).
Randomly i miss my baby blizzrad bear hunter pet ;/
My hunter pet dinged, then I dinged, then I mounted and dismounted and my pet was AUTOCASTING PROWL OMG BLIZZ HOW COME YOU DON'T KNOW UR CLASS PET ABILITIES ENOUGH TO FIX SUCH AN OBVIOUS BUG. ZOMG it's been around since WotLK BETA you nub programmers!
I don't think anyone is whining about the PTR itself, i'm just annoyed that blizzard misses such glaring mistakes and puts them on the PTR in the first place. Finding out that running at Hodir in an Ogre costume somehow crashes the server, sure that's fine and could MAYBE be an issue and it's good that it was tested. Taking a single glance at a tier set bonus and going "Wait a second...no?"..that's not even testing anything other then your own intellect being over 50.
You obviously have no clue wtf about programming and maintaining a game as complex as WoW.
I know their server software is horrible and outdated, I know their design team is absolute shit and thinks that using the Hue/Saturation tool in Photoshop is an effort. And i'm pretty sure their database would scare the ever living fuck out of someone.
You don't actually know any of these things; You're letting your preconceptions slide around in your mind as fact and getting worked up over it, which makes this particular tantrum kind of sad. 'Glaring mistakes' make it to retail in games of any complexity, that's been a fact of video gaming since you could connect two computers together over the internet. But guess what? The one you're kvetching about was *fanfare* fixed during testing!
There was an interview with someone regarding Blizzard's server software and it was stated it was outdated by quite a few years the way they were maintaining it. As for the Database it's pretty evident that when they change some things, other things not related at all suddenly stop working or cause major catastrophes.
And as for it being a TEST realm, yeah no shit. I love how people will just gobble up anything blizzard does like good little fanbois. That's kind of a glaring mistake to go by, seeing as the only other times set bonuses are changed are when they actually need reworking..
and as for the PTR I would see that as Beta. Something getting through as just "working" sounds to me like Alpha.
You are again confused by the difference between your perception of Blizzard's testing/QA process and the facts of the matter. You'll have to link this interview with 'someone' because honestly it's the only part of your post I can separate out as potential nonfiction. That you can't reinforce any other part of what you've said without resorting to calling me a 'fanboi' doesn't give me a lot of hope, though. Wouldn't be the first time I wrote off such a retarded stand on such a minor issue off as bad trolling, I guess. Is it really fanboyish to look at bugs that were found and fixed on a PTR to be an acceptable price for access to unreleased content? Or are you trying to completely redefine Blizzard's testing process by your own childish, nonsense criteria to fit some weird haterade-fueled agenda?
Never mind.
What about taking 2yrs in database management and SQL? Blizzard's testing process is to give you all the job to find their own bugs. But yet when we get a patch suddenly bugs still hit us, and not just minor "hey this graphic is glitched" bug. What about the bug where Wintergrasp destroyed servers? The summoning portal bug? The Orc shoulder pads bug?
Or how about this "additional instances" issue, that was some how not forseen by Blizzard?
I'm not saying WoW doesn't have bugs as a product. But I think you don't give enough credit to how bugs that slip through to live servers are getting addressed now vs. how it used to be. And now you're jumping up and down on a fixed bug like it's just another example of How I'm Right And Everyone Else Is Wrong.
Now I'm certain you're arguing just to argue. The Orc shoulder pads bug?
Actually the fact that it even got past the drawing board when it's an obvious known fact about the forebearance debuff yet it was put in that way and needed PLAYER feedback to be changed. That's the type of thing that shouldn't be pushed through. Blizzard is just in fact lazy nowadays, they don't care as evidenced by this coming patch. With:
Gear models (Both pvp and pve)
3.2 instance
Conquest emblems being tossed into every heroic
The new boss models
The PTR itself (It just seems like it's a way to get people to test instead of paying for it)
...and? If you've given up hope on Blizzard caring about you, your class or how you want to play the game, the only remaining reason to stick around is you're a masochist. Which if you came from...that other MMO...I kind of understand, but god knows why you gotta draw out the discussion about it.
Really, quit. Blizzard isn't going to stop doing what it's doing just because you're unhappy unless 10 million others join you and stop paying for your subscription.
lol dude, shut up
If I want to complain about the game, I have every right.
If you don't like it, tough shit. Stop crying and find another thread.
You might want to stay away from this one tho:
