my account was worth way more than the other stuff he took. I dont know if he even took the time to research what it was worth. =/ And of course he denies any part of it.

welp either way beat his ass until he admits what he did
this is advanced? I didn't know looking at a piece of paper that has all your information written down that you don't keep atleast remotely hidden where someone could come up and open the booklet and find your passwords and everything being advanced.
this is just someone who is not careful about information they leave around, if anything I say you had this coming for being so careless. no sympathy at all from me because this could have all been prevented.
hell memorize your shit bro. or get tazed.
I notice a lot of old people like to write their information down and leave it laying around the house. I have no idea why, but they refuse to remember information and instead choose keep it on paper (Then either this happens or they forget where they put the paper). At least from my point of view it's a generational problem instead of an individual issue.
none of these are the right suggestion besides this one, partly. I would simply press charges on him, its identity theft, and theft in general. He is 25 there is really no excuse for his behavior and if you give him a freebie then he will continue this behavior. At the age of 25, acting this way, something tells me he is just a low down thief, going as far as to take from family and will continue to steal. The best thing you can do for him, yourself, is to press charges i'd call SE give my story and if they are willing to work with you awesome if not, wow you may be out of luck. Is the boy mentally retarded or something? Don't hit him, just do what you need to do to get your information back and i'd still press charges.
This isn't advanced.
You have yet to address how you have dealt with your nephew besides "good old ass whoopin." To be honest, the audience is more concerned with that. The lack of details makes your story unconvincing.
Long story short, no. You won't get your account restored.
Hey guys, I RMTed my account and came up with a bad cover story about someone else doing it. Do you think SE will believe me and let me have my cake and sell it too? Thx.
So... he stole and sold your security token too?
That should be tough to prove...
Or, even better, if he took the security token off and all the sudden the account is stripped and logging on from a different ip... even FFXI gm's could figure that one out.
You should definitely be calling them about this.
heh....Can always count on colorful remarks from people who call bullshit on everything they hear.Hey guys, I RMTed my account and came up with a bad cover story about someone else doing it. Do you think SE will believe me and let me have my cake and sell it too? Thx.
Look at his post count. This topic was approved for Advanced.
Um, good luck I guess.
EDIT: I agree, unless there's something about your nephew we don't know, this is pretty fucked.
And yes, I freely admit that I am partly to blame for it. What kind of fucked up world do we live in that we cant trust family. Those of you that think this is a fairy tale can brow me. I even took into consideration the fact the some douche payed money for something that he thought was legit and am leaning away from doing anything at all about the FF shit. Fuck it, guess this is my ff detox, eh? Maybe now I should go do something productive with my time.
Just consider you gave him his Birthday/christmas presents for the next 30 years and wait for FF14...
Your luck could be that token is actually an object and justice might do something if you show your story as a steal of the token and not a -virtual good-
Quite the opposite, really. I've spent enough time dealing with people to know that they have absolutely no problem coming up with total bullshit stories when they think it could benefit them. I'll never understand why people seem to default to believing everything that random others post on the internet.
It's much more likely that Seanpgrnc just thought that he came up with a brilliant story because there's not really any way to disprove it. "Yes, all that activity happened from my normal IP address, my nephew was house-sitting, I wasn't there!"
Too bad his story's full of holes. I really don't care enough to point many of them out, but consider that he mentioned the account had a security token. How was it RMTed then? Was the security token mailed to the buyer? Or are you trying to tell me that a kid that you admitted had absolutely no knowledge of the game did enough research to learn how to un-link the security token through the SquareEnix account website? Seems unlikely, considering the kid's apparently dumb enough to blatantly steal stuff out of a house he's been put in charge of. Why did the kid steal and sell your PS3 but not your PC? Seems like it'd be more his style to just take the PC down to the pawn shop, not dig through all the programs installed on it to see if you have any virtual assets that could be liquidated first.
valid point from above poster, but i'd still beat the shit outta your nephew if what you speaking is truword. no one fucks with family; you fuck with the family, you fuckin with the wrong shit.
Useful comment time:
Call up SE and lie through your teeth, say your account was hacked, and you don't know who by/when and you want a rollback.
I know of 2 people in similar situations to you (one was a housemate that RMT'd everything after the account was leant while the owner computer was in for repair, the other was an ex-gf that did the FFXI equivalent of keying ones car).
They rang up the first time, told the truth and the staff said "lol, sucks to be you". I told them to call up again and lie, and it went through, not even a comment about the previous call.
Call centre staff don't give shit, they just read from a script. Just gotta point them towards the right script.
Edit: Also, your nephew needs to have bad things happen to him. Unfortunately, legal action and getting your account restored any time this year are mutually exclusive.

But I would recommend trying to press charges, since you actually know who did it, it's much more realistic than most cases where people try to press charges on someone for account theft. Getting your account back would be great, but your nephew really doesn't deserve for this to not come back and haunt him.
I'm not an advocate of violence and I suggest that you deal with him like an adult deals with any frustrating situation.
Oh by the way, I left that baseball bat with absolute virtue written on it by your back porch just clean it off when your done with it.
