True it is missing that hint of old school fun, but the rides are still great. Diamondback is hot shit.

Haven't been to Kings Island in years but will be up there when I come up later this month.
I'm disappointed the loop is gone from Son of Beast.
Yeah, it's still fun though. DimondBack is seriously awesome though, never had so much fun on a coaster before. Putting your hands up, and just going with the ride really does make you feel like youre gonna fall, youre only held down by a brace on your thighs.
Ceder Points and Knotts Berry Farm >>>> Any Six Flags park
Man I haven't been to Kings in yeeeears, I just always go to the Point because its only about a 2 hour drive from where I live. The 6 flags we had was geauga lake before 6 flags bought it. I think it would of worked if they would of put some money into it instead of just painting and changing the rides names.
Six flags is only fun if you go early in the morning. It got so dull once the crowd grew when I was at Magic Mountain. Not surprised to see this at all, sucks though.
Isn't the government going to subsidize them because the US cannot allow all those jobs to be "lost"? And after all, what's good for Six Flags is good for America.
Yea, King-da-ka or however its spelled (its said that way though).
Fuck that coaster. You go straight up for about 3,000 feet or whatever ridiculous number it is then get to read a sign "Note, King-da-ka sometimes doesnt make it over the edge and may fall backward. This is normal".
Fuck. That. Coaster. Never again.
Six Flags Over Texas > you. I lived about 10 minutes from there for about 13 years, and worked there for 2 summers.
Sad to hear though.
LOL I would go on every single ride in Great Adventures but for whatever reason, King-Da Ka scared me shitless and my balls would turn into a uterus just thinking about riding it. Last time I went, it broke down and it made me feel a little better for being a bitch.
Kingda Ka isn't that bad.
Rolling Thunder? 9,000 year old wooden coaster? Now thats scary.
Kingda Ka sucks, every time I go to Six Flags the damn thing is under maintenance. Out of 6-7 times I've been to Six Flags I've rode it once.
I waited for about an hour and a half to get on Kingda Ka at a Physics day they have at the NJ one. After I got off the ride the park was basically empty so I got on again right away <.<
lol, I just went to six flags yesterday ;o
Kinda funny how many of you talking about great adventure.
I'm like... 20mins from here? Next town over basically (seaside area), but far enough for there to be no rednecks within almost that entire radius.
I havent been on king da ka yet, and probably wont go on it. I hate Rolling Thunder, and the Scream Machine felt like a near death experience... like that was the coasters last ride. I was so loosely strapped in, moved around so much. Fuck that.
Nitro and Medusa (I guess its bizzaro now) are my favorite. I'll ride them 100 times a visit.
Medusa is meh. Scream Machine was great until I rode it 300 times (I used to work there). Batman & Robin is overrated, the Batman was yummy, Viper got old, Rolling Thunder got old, Skull Mountain was overrated, the Evolution was always under maintenance; about the only fun I had at Great Adventure when I would go was going on Congo Rapids and getting to go on rides for free.
Once you've worked there and gone on the rides umpteen-million times it's not very fun.
I'm not surprised it's bankrupt. You should see how many times they had to perform maintenance on all the thrill rides (Freefall, etc). Plus with a policy stating that you have to give free food as a replacement if a guest drops theirs (you are not allowed to question them or you get written up for ruining their 'experience') it's no surprise they were losing money.
The harness makes you scream more than the coaster
