Overall, decent premiere. I'm interested to see where Alan Ball takes us this year, other than Dallas, and hopefully a good actor is cast as Barry.

Actually the True Blood books (Southern Vampire Series) pre-date the Twilight books.

The first Southern Vampire book came out in 2001 (Dead Until Dark). The first Twilight book (Twilight) came out in 2005. Nice try though.

I merely gave my impression form the first two episodes, I was not even aware it was based on books. I'll read them, and watch a couple more eps and see if it improves.

I was in your boat for awhile. I hated the start of season one, but one of my roommates convinced me to keep going. It's not the best show ever, but it got better as the season went on.

I loved S1, and yesterday's episode was awesome. I started to read the books and the show is still fresh and seems to follow the same line, just things come about in a diff order (yet each S1 is based off of each book - unless S2 goes for more then 12 episodes I'm guessing).

I know Lafette is an extremely minor character in the books, but I was so happy to see him survive cause he is one of the best characters on the show. And if he is made a Vampire o..m..g he will be pure win

How the episode ended was prolly one of the freakiest things I have seen on the show. Eric just went crazy and.. damn...
