True Blood Season 2

Someone recommended this show to me, I watched one episode but I couldn't stand Sookie. Does she get...less annoying? I can usually deal with one annoying character but I have a feeling that the show will focus heavily on her and not so much on the characters that I do like.

So, is it worth keeping with or if I don't like it should I just not bother?

Can't really comment on Sookie as she is one of the main characters. But the cast of characters becomes large enough that she isn't always on screen. It's really not Paquin's fault though, it's how the character is written (unless Ball decides to later write her character differently from the books). Best bet is to try it out for at least 4-5 episodes and see if you are interested still.
I originally only watched the first 2 episodes then stopped watching, but picked it up again closer to S2 when I was bored and noticed it on HBO on Demand. Ever since then I have loved the series & books, but it took a few episodes for me to get into it

I suppose the character of Sookie grows on you, or you get used to it. I can't say that I find her annoying. She is naive in many ways but that's the character. But the character of Tara is just becoming unbearable to me, every scene she'e featured in I get more & more impatient, wanting it to end.

This. Her character grows a bit so it's not always so whiny, but she has her moments. That, and she does get less screen time by S2 when there are 3-4 diff stories going on at once

Think your just thinking about it too logically when Maryaan's power's are all but that. She obviously has 90% of the town under her control, and I think she has diluted everyone's senses/ common sense to some extent.

You'd think Bud and Kendra (I think thats her name) would look at what Andy is saying about the town going crazy with the abrupt increase of crazy issues in town. Then again Bud seems like quite the cynic.

I foresee Andy and Lafayette putting their heads together to make sense of all the stuff goin on.

Tonight's episode was a bit slow, but I guess it sort of had to be. Three more episodes means it will end just before I move and cancel my cable, so good timing.

I was pretty bummed when Godric died. It was sad with Eric getting all emotional too. I wish there were more action than most of this talking about everything after it happened stuff.

The most recent episode was similiar to earlier in the season... you had the episode before it have tons of stuff go on and the following episode dealing with the fallout of all that happened. Not that its a bad thing. Reflection on whats going on gives what happens more meaning rather than just shock value.

Wow, Hoyt's mom was a cold bitch (just like the "nice lady from TV" Nan Flanagan). She knew what to say to upset Jessica. It looks like next week is gonna be the remaining people start gathering together to see about stopping Maryann. Wouldnt be surprised if next weeks episode starts with Sam showing Andy what he can do. How else is he gonna justify being naked.

Episode was "ok," but was understandable cause it was kind of them closing up the Dallas scene and allowing the story to 100% focus back on Bon Temps. Godric's final scene was sad because they really made it him out to be a great person in the show and he had so much empathy for everyone.
I am really anxious to see how the last 3 episodes play out since the entire Maryaan stuff is nearly completely diff from the book and there is no way it can end the same. But lol at Jason w/ a Chainsaw, fuck yeah!

You wouldn't have cried if they developed Godric like they did in the books. He was a child molestor and child predator for most of his life in the books. I was pretty happy to see him die in a similar way he did in the book at least.

I must say though, I recently saw the episode where Godric's character appeared, then I started reading the books. Between two weeks ago's episode, and two night's ago episode, I read the first and second book. I really liked Godric as he was in the show, then I found out more about his character through the books. That completely changed my perception of him, and the character in general (younger looking actor) made him super creepy to me. Was kind of odd I suppose, thought I'd share.

After being a dork, I mean watching the preview for next week in slow-motion, I saw a very interesting thing on it...

There was a shot of Jessica biting Hoyt's mom.

Wonder if her first experience with Maryann made Hoyts mom loopy and Jessica flipped out and snacked on that ass. Guess we'll find out on Sunday.
