anyone playing this? i just picked it up (10 minutes ago and i'm at work, so i haven't played yet); reviews have been decent but a few friends got it which made me go for it. i haven't touched any since 2003, which i loved at the time, but i have no idea if the series has improved or not since then.

some of the best games to play with friends are sports game, Madden and NHL come to mind. But games like Nascar and Golf make me facepalm.

Golf is a pure skill sport, and the reason to play the game is that it costs $60 instead of however much for clubs and each round of golf.

I've always liked Tiger Woods games, however they get sooo easy to the point where you're winning all the time so effortlessly and by a long shot.

well i don't really disagree with you at all, i just had a bunch of friends all of a sudden get this so i got it to mess around with them. i'm not a huge sports game fan either way. i'd much rather play real football and baseball than Madden or MLB (then again i'd rather play cod or soul calibur than sports, haha). and i'd rather slam my dick in a door than play a nascar game. so yeah this probably wasn't the best purchase for me to make (still haven't played it, but i did make my ea sports avatar using Charmane Star face shots, like a pervert)

But no, I haven't played it yet. My last Tiger Woods game is 06 though, so I do need an upgrade sometime.

Its a fun game, bought it to play with best friend who moved to Florida recently as a way to have fun stay in touch and bullshit over a game that doenst require a bunch of attention like fighting game or FPS. Game does get alot easier as you get access to items that boost your stats, but not that surprising.

Only real complaint is the game randomly freezes while loading the next hole at times. Looked into it seems it happens on both the ps3 and xbox version. Played a few tourneys already and has happened twice. Both timest it happened on the back 9 which sucks to have to replay the round all over again because the game doesn't save your progress until you finish the round and not after each hole.

Also there does seem to be a random glitch that sometimes when you accept a Custom Drill to improve your stats during a tourney round you skip that round. Example: Finished firsty day of Tourney > Custom Drill > restart event calendar, for some reason your on day 3 of tourney with everyones score all fucked up. Went from a -9 to -74.

That aside its fun game and nice change of pace from CoD4 or Infamous. Still, I'm hoping that freezing thing gets patched.

OH NOES MY BACK OW, I've been to driving ranges before, not saying thats "real" golf but, when its 90 degrees out and im in the sun and still not sweating, there's no true physical exertion involved.


But yeah i played the Demo, really didn't enjoy it at all.

Also way to go at being emo over my opinion of a "sport"

Have not played this game and do not plan to. It's boring as shit to play golf on a video game. Real golf is such a more rewarding experience. About the lazy thing, my friend has the 09 and absolutely loves playing it for 4+ hours at a time. He also happens to be one of the laziest people I have ever met LOL. I have tried past version and got bored pretty quick.

I bought it last night for PS3 and I enjoyed creating a near match golfer using Game Face. Only got through a couple Challenges, but nothing on the PGA Tour yet. Its going to be fun to play the US Open on the same leaderboard as the pros this weekend. Also, I'm new to PS3, can they patch games like they can on PC? As in, can they fix the glitch that keeps freezing it randomly?
