PSN games?

Quick question thought I'd post in here instead of new thread:

So I started playing the god of war 2 60min demo today, and was wondering if I go out and buy the gow collection will I be able to pick up where I left off at (and keep trophies) or will I have to buy the digital version to do that. I really don't want to "buy" the digital version as I'd rather have a hard copy of a game.

Final Fantasy V Is Confirmed For European PlayStation Network Release, Too

A few short hours after Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy V is hitting the PlayStation Network in Japan, Square Enix Europe have made their own announcement, confirming that Europeans can hope to see the game sometime in the future, too.

Similar to Final Fantasy III (the fourth game didn’t include it), Final Fantasy V has a Job system, consisting of 22 jobs. Final Fantasy V also let you transfer abilities between jobs.

Square Enix Europe haven’t announced a release date for Final Fantasy V yet, just that “the game is currently being arranged for a release.”

JRPG fans take note: a beloved classic is set to get a whole new look and feel within the near future.

Square Enix has announced that a new version of Final Fantasy V is officially being developed for PlayStation 3 and PSP. Not just any re-release will do, however; this one is set to be a complete "reinvention" with the addition of full CG-animated cutscenes exclusive to the new release, although classic gameplay mechanics (including the "Active Time" fight sequences) will remain intact.

The release of the latest incarnation of the critically-acclaimed hit is slated for distribution on the PlayStation Network upon release, although confirmation is set only for European territories as of this writing. That being said, we expect that further information regarding other territories will be available in the near future.

Good to hear they're actually doing something with it. For a moment there I was thinking they were being cheapskates by releasing FF Anthology but charging for each disc that pack included.
(granted I'd probably have bought them both anyways. I love me some FF6, even if the PSX version was plagued with load times)

I'm taking it that it'll be like FF1/2/4 on PSP, where it's the original game, but with a fresh translation, visuals, and rearranged tunes. Bit curious how they'll have it work for PSP/PS3 though. PS minis wouldn't work due to filesize limitations, so they'll have to have two packages on PSN for it.

Just got Dissidia 012, I and II on PSP, IV on pre-order and got to get an iPod Touch for III. There better be some more bonus dungeons, etc again to make it worthwhile getting again, again.

PSN Chrono Cross Info Coming Next Week

We first heard about a PlayStation Network release for Chrono Cross in early December. And then, nothing. Meanwhile, Final Fantasy 5 was announced and will see release tomorrow.

So what's the deal with the downloadable version of Chrono Cross? We'll find out next week, it seems. Square Enix producer Shinji Hashimoto made a post at the Square Enix Members Twitter today promising information next week.

The Chrono Cross PSN announcement was part of a commemoration for the Square Enix Members Twitter having reached 20,000 followers. It's now over 24,000.

I'm pleasantly surprised how much fun the recent batch of PSN games are. Moon Diver, Rush'N Attack, & Chime have gotten me excited for new IP's again.

Has anyone played the new Dungeon Hunter game? I own the original on my Touch (most generic game ever, but good time killer), but apparently this is a completely new game, complete with 4-player local/online co-op. Wanted to know if it's got a lot of dungeon crawler goodness, as the PS3 is severely lacking in that genre.

Really going to be annoyed if these games don't work on the NGP..... Hopefully they will work on the PS4 whenever that comes out as well. I'd like to keep my nostalgia as long as possible.

Fuck Yeah! Neutopia is on there. That was my favorite game on Turbo Grafx 16, but I don't really see myself purchasing a 8-bit for $6 unless they touched it up to all hell.

Because I like having physical discs on the shelf. I tend to enjoy building a library of stuff, not just paying a few bucks to play something. I've got PC games on the shelf I've had for almost 20 years, and so on. A downloadable title (or DLC for that matter) is not the same, and I'm far, far less likely to buy much of anything that way outside of bargains on Steam.

It's not the cost that's the issue though. I'd pay more than that for the game (which I may wind up doing, EU is getting a disc release).

Anyone know how downloading TV episodes and movies from PSN works? Can I transfer the file onto an external HDD and say... watch them on a PC? If I can only keep them on my PS3 then I don't know why anyone would DL a movie instead of buying physical copy to keep forever. (especially since they cost the same or in some cases more)

Reason I ask this is I want the second season of Breaking Bad but absolutely no stores around me have a copy on hand and If I can only ever watch them on the PS3 I'm gonna have to say no. Makes me wonder if/when the PS4 eventually comes if all my PSN purchases will carry over.
