PSN games?

Square Enix are holding a “Winter of RPGs” campaign on the PlayStation Network in the U.S. over the next two months.

This means you’re getting Chrono Cross, Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy VI as download titles from now until December.

Here’s the schedule:

Chrono Cross – November 8th

Final Fantasy V – November 22nd

Final Fantasy VI – December 8th

Awesome chrono cross. Not going to bother with 5 and 6 though since the gba versions are superior. How much longer though will we have to wait for SE to remake 5 and 6 though, 4 got 2 remakes a sequel and a remake of the sequel.

Would be cool, I never played the first Fear Effect, just the follow-up.

FF V/VI are a pass for me given nothing will be done about the load times. Chrono Cross is awesome, but I already own it.......and have yet to beat it once. Dunno why, I've restarted the game at least four times, I kept losing my data somehow.

Yeah, FFV/VI are a full blown pass, especially since it was already mentioned that they're just the PS1 ports, issues and all. Chrono Cross though, man.. my original discs are back in AZ, and I can't say I wouldn't mind playing through it again.

I'm pumped that Chrono Cross is coming out. I lost my discs a while back and I'm still super choked about it to this day. I love Final Fantasy VI but I couldn't stand the loading times on the PSX version. bleh. Was there any differences between the SNES and the PSX versions?

Game content wise, no. The only added material was the gallery mode stuff, and the FMVs.
Oh, and a couple bugfixes.

In light of this, about fucking time they give us an option to remotely disable the account on a given system for those of us that have a dead console/handheld or two. Bit curious how that works though if you just activate on another console and then keep it offline to prevent it from updating its credential status.

Yeah, saw the article about that on Kotaku earlier today. Frankly, I'm surprised it took them as long as it has. The PSN as a whole will be better for it, though I'm sure there's still going to be people raging about it.

Released without much fanfare, but the original, Klonoa: Door to Phantomile came out on the PSN today.

Is Vanguard Bandits pretty good? I've never played it and the reviews look fairly average but I know those can't be trusted.

Yeah it was added to the PSN, so I guess that means I should buy it. Also Brill don't miss the link above for monkeypaw books. Right on the front page of their website is a DL link to the strat guide for free (you know those hardcover strat guides working designs games had). It's like an 80MB .pdf but the guide looks pretty nice.

4 was a bit of a surprise, but 3 has been blocked a very long time. There's a PSP version, but it was only ever released in Japan and Europe. Yet another case of Capcom just not giving a fuck.

But there's no excuse for Dragoon, it's an SCE game, there should be no issues getting it up there. >:C

Yeah, BoF3 would be nice. I just got my PS3 for xmas and have been loving it thus far. Never played stuff like Grandia, Ark the Lad etc. back in their days so here's my chance I guess.

Also I'm happy to once again have an English copy of FF7 since my ex from over 5 years ago still has mine.
