here's a little info on it from wiki's page on Korean Animation:

Major players describe the Korean animation industry as in a period of crisis or transition. During the 1990s, a period of explosive growth for the industry, Korean studios made the lion's share of their profits from "OEM animation," or animation production deals, mostly from the United States. Nelson Shin's AKOM studio struck the prototypical Korean OEM deal in 1989, when it animated the first season of The Simpsons television series. Although some studios, notably DR Movie, remain busy, Korean OEM deals have been on the decline in the past half decade, leaving Shin and other studio heads without work.

AKOM studios is responsible for the following shows:

The younger generation of today is much 'older'. Hence, the reason why you see garbage like Reality Cartoons (lol?) and 6teen shit.

Not true at all. Most cartoons these days look like they were made in Flash. Writing wise, I think the changes can be reflected by The Simpsons. The Simpsons now has degraded into poorly executed pop references (WoW, Halo) and in general more whacky antics. Whereas in older seasons they would actually have sensible plots, themes, and ideas. Now it's just Homer being a stooge.

Even good old Bugs Bunny is far better than a ton of the new stuff.

That said, some old shows that were "cool" back in the day do show their age - i.e. The "Real" Ghostbusters (the ones based off the movie not that really old one). Some of our favorites may be a little stuffy as well.

Reboot had it's moments too (and it is in-between) but they didn't leave it dead and now it's unfinished.

Anyone remember the Dragonball Z days? I remember coming home from school and always looking forward to the next episode. I remember witnessing Goku turn Super Saiyan for the first time and thinking "HOLY shit, that's awesome!"

I also remember Hey Arnold! CatDog, Rocco's Modern Life (<3)... now Nickelodean is full of retarded shows, except for Spongebob (still one of the greatest cartoons imo).

I also remember Kids WB, and that block that they had from like 8 in the morning 'til 12, which aired shit like Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh!. I don't give a shit what anyone says, I used to love watching those 2 shows back in the day.

Now Kids WB doesn't even exist last I remember.

I also remember watching the first episode of Pokemon and remembering that day in school that if you hadn't watched that first episode, you were a loser. Haha!

But I totally agree, cartoons have gone to absolute shit.

yea about that... Chip & Dales Rescue Rangers/Darkwing Duck were animated by Sunwoo entertainment, as was virtually everything from Disney related to that, as well as Gargoyles and Rocko's Modern Life:

You can click around on the Wiki page for Korean animation studios and find virtually any cartoon made in the past 30 years. Granted, they're not always the only/primary animation studio, but American Cartoons haven't been wholly American for quite some time.
