I feel sorry for you.
Why feel sorry for him? The Bold is a great phone. I went from iPhone to Bold, and now I'm a Blackberry fan.
Some of the apps i have for my bold:
Poynt- I use it for theatres near me and show times
Viigo- Updates you on news, and sports. Loved Viigo during NFL season, up to date scores, and news
BOLT- Web browser that's better than the default browser. Everything looks like if you are using a browser on a computer.
Vision for YouTube- good program to watch Youtube videos
Google Maps- works with gps to pin-point where you are
SMS Display On- It lights up the screen when you get a txt
BuzzMe- allows the phone to vibrate and ring at the same time instaed of just vibrating and then ringing
Aerize Alerts- it gives you a preview of your txts, emails, or both as a pop up.
FlyCast -and- Radio Companion- Streams music.
I actually have the 8350i, the one with the PPT button. Actually, I tried Google Maps, but I guess the GPS is not activated on the plan I have and they charge 35US+ a month for it, so its a no go!
I'll try the BOLT browser, default browser is driving me crazy.
Get Y! messenger, Tinytwitter, AIM, amAze, Tellme, Pandora, Google app
Enjoying that Video recording?
Oh wait...
How bout that Tethering...No? Damn...
Real email service? Ouch...
Enjoy ur casual phone
Spoiler: show
i think of all the apps i use on my blackberry, i love pandora the most. saves me a piece of hardware to carry around instead of having my ipod with me. and gmail app is great also
I hope Pandora works but I doubt it since Pandora is restricted in Peru. lol
Some companies lock the GPS so it cannot be accessed by 3rd party programs like google. It's really really lame. I think Verizon and Sprint both do this. I know AT&T doesn't. Anyway, other programs...
Documents to go - For use with MS Office
As far as browsers go, I use Opera
Oh, and update your OS to 4.5 if you haven't.
Had my blackberry for about 6 months now. I frequently use Pandora, Gmail, Google maps, and Viigo. I would also recommend Opera for browser, I like it much more than the default. Surprising to me the app I probably use the most is weatherbug, I like being able to roll over in bed and see what the weather is going to be from my docked phone.
As mentioned Viingo is a wonderful little app that you should check out.
The one I use the most is the NYT crosswords app. If you're a fan of crosswords i would highly recommend it. Only downside is it's 2 or 3 dollars a month. Small price to pay for how much i use it.
Oh and Schizotone.
2 things to examine for google maps. first of all you must enable gps for all apps instead of just 911 support. i have a storm, so i'm not entirely sure how to do it on the bold (i'd imagine it's similar, but you can look it up online.) if that doesn't work, it's possible your carrier has locked the AGPS data that google maps wants to use. it was the same w/ my storm on verizon until very recently when google and verizon decided to get along and allowed google maps to get the agps data. you might try bbmaps if google maps won't work for you.
another valuable tool for me is google sync which lets me slap something into my mobile cal and bam, out it pops on my gmail cal. this is a great way to sync your cal w/ outlook OTA if you don't have BES too, though since your employer gave you one, i'm assuming you have a full BES environment set up.
finally i like having quickpull around so i can more easily reboot my phone w/o having to pop it open and struggle w/ getting the battery out then back in worrying about dropping it.
Thanks for everything. I called my operator and they say I have to pay $35US more for GPS functions T_T, what a load of horse shit.
I installed Opera and it works like a charm, gonna try the Google Sync now.
Also, maybe you guys wanna try Street Fighter II CE, lol. I installed it yesterday (takes a while to get used to) but its a cool game to play during Statistics II.
Quickpull, Google Sync, Facebook, Myspace, Blackberry App World, Beejive IM (It costs money but its an all in one IM app and it is worth it), Pandora, Slacker, Poynt and quite a few others.
As I feared, Pandora still does not work if you are outside the US![]()
not sure how many people use the blackberry storm, but found this yesterday, and its pretty cool and its free.
