Okay guys, thread can be closed if a moderator wills it so. At any rate, I gave my dad some aspirin and he said the pain lessened after 30 minutes or so. I'm guessing it's ITBS. I'm driving him to the hospital after he gets home from work nevertheless.

As much as it pains me to say, I can't force a grown man to do something he doesn't want to. And he does know the risks of not going to the hospital. It's not so easy holding a job in construction, especially with the recession we're in. His boss will let him go easier for sure, as he's done in the past when my dad cracked a concrete hose against his ankle.
