Well the trade-off was always publicity for the artists, but now that it can be handled so much more easily by the internet there's less need for the labels (who are the ones actually making the giant profit from album sales). So basically the majors should just try to sue the internet itself, because that makes two ways that it's cutting into their profits.

    aye.

one thing in particular that's been so great about the internet is how artists who make music that doesn't really fit in other media (film, theater, games, etc) nor is it easily accessible for audiences in a bar/club can freely transmit their ideas worldwide and comfortably exist in a niche, relying on internet+word of mouth to be able to support small venue tours and continue making music. a lot of experimental/electronica fits this bill.

    Hail and well met, Beckwin!

I say 'aye' all the time too, in casual conversation even. Most people don't notice, and I'm glad.

    More on topic,

Do you think making distinction between artists and virtuosos is relevant enough to this thread?

Because 'aye' is just a sound of assent. Even a simple grunt will do.

Just try saying "Hail and well met" in casual conversation and see if people still don't notice.

You would assume correct. I'm aware of the ethical implications of my behaviour. The difference is that I'm not living in denial trying to come up with some bullshit excuse to justify my actions.

Lawl, too easy. Irrelevant conclusion, etc. Nobody is debating whether all laws are just or unjust, Einstein. Your entire "argument" from the very beginning is laughable. What's next, are you going to bring the Jim Crow Laws or Nümberger Gesetze to support your "argument"? Please.

Then please elaborate what those ethical implications are, that you are apparently aware of.

I know, Meteora didn't buy the picture rights, therefore the studio and the model lost money. Which is same thing as theft.

    mmmm-hmmm.

you're not saying that all laws are just, but you're assuming laws in general are just for the sake of this particular debate since you aren't providing reasoning for why this particular action is illegal.
if you need to clarify and then go ahead, but you're still a shitty poster.

You're just assuming I'm assuming, gg. And now for your made up bullshit, which is the majority of your posts really, you pull some shit out of your ass and "attack" (lol) that instead of the other person's original argument. Ok, so let's look at your straw man, tell me where, according to you, I claimed all laws are just when I gave you two, not one, but two (2, II, 0b10, http://www.freeimagehosting.net/uploads/c699f3247a.jpg, http://www.freeimagehosting.net/uploads/af02f8d9d1.jpg) fucking examples that completely contradict your claim. It's painful sarcastic and the only way to make it even more obvious is to put /sarcasm tags all over it, you'd have to be a complete idiot to not treat it as such. OR perhaps I was giving you waaaaaaaaay too much credit and didn't realize you're so dense, even more so than a fucking white dwarf not to pick that up (wat). Go ahead and jack off to your korean drama, wallow in your dubu, pussy-talk about me in other threads for all I get is nothing but pure orgasmic enjoyment.

If you think the law is bad and should therefore be broken, start up a website with a few thousand songs to download for free, and claim they're "gifts" to all the people on the internet you don't know, then fight the law.

Oh, what's that? You're full of shit and just want free music? Thought so.

If I was black I would find you and backhand your ass for that comment.

edit, because some retard is guaranteed to try to jump on that, the offense is over comparing black voters' rights to stealing music

    You want clarification?

If people torrent Ronald Jenkees music instead of buying it, Ronald Jenkees can't afford to keep making amazing music for us all to listen to.

And, if you're partaking in bringing that scenario to fruition, well, fuck you, in the ass, with a broomstick, sideways.

What's the point of this post? You made no counter points, you said nothing to add to your argument and you failed to even address the topic.
