    Correct RAM for this laptop?

My gf's old Laptop is a Dell Inspiron 6000
Inspiron 6000 Memory - Upgrade Dell 6000 Inspiron Laptop Memory

I want to upgrade the RAM in the laptop that I use to fish up legendaries. Right now it's so horrendously slow (with 256mb of ram) it's unbearable to use for anything else. Minimizing a program, multi tasking, or opening programs takes at times 10-20 seconds to do. I will paste the exact specs below from an everest scan, but in short it has a 1.3ghz celeron with 256 mb of ram. Should I just double it to 512 or make the leap to 1 gig total? I'd love to upgrade to 1 gig but I'm afraid that will make it too fast and thus defeat the purpose of fishing up liks lol. Thoughts? I'm not too tech savvy so I'm not exactly sure if I should be getting 200 pin or 240 pin? Can you guys recommend the proper memory off newegg please! Thanks for your time and here are the PC specs:

You pretty much did all the work, and know what RAM fits. If you didnt you could just use DDR Memory, SDRAM Memory, Memory, Computer Memory at Newegg.com

Filling that out brings you to Newegg.com - Inspiron 6000,"CFG003Inspiron 6000"

Then you can sort by price or best ratings.

Looks like the kingston with 400 reviews is good, grab two of them.
